Academic Superstore

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had.

They have not shipped and will not contact me after many attempts at e-mail and by phone. Phone at "customer service" just says they aren't available and will call you. A couple of weeks ago I did contact someone by phone and they said 3 days.

This is a gift for my freshman grand-daughter. At this rate she will have her PhD before getting the program.

Big problem is that I did this on a credit card. They have that information, I can't contact them to cancel the order, since no charge has been put on my account the credit card company can't do anything so my $400 is in limbo. The minute I go elsewhere to buy, they will ship and then I have 2 programs and get to start the return hassle. If they are this way selling me something you can imagine the service returning it. My rating a total MINUS FIVE STARS

FedEx had a problem making delivery of the product for some reason. It seemed to sit on a truck 40 miles south of me for about four days. The Post Office and FedEx do not recognize the same school address. It has been here since 1974, with no changes. FedWx was the only problem.

Previous shopper with good experiences, but now very disappointed. After trying to return the unopened product I was told the manufacturer does not allow returns, and was told it was now an obsolete product (three days later!). I contacted the manf. and was told there was no corporate policy for this - it was a reseller decision. During the online order process it was never mentioned that this product could never be returned (how many would buy if this was stated?). This is the first site I've purchased from that does not warn you of such a policy in advance. Because of this experience, I'd recommend taking my business elsewhere for not being up front or professional after the sale. The only retort I keep getting is "the policy is stated on our web site". Go ahead, try to find it without being told where it is. This practice makes a seemingly professional company seem second rate and petty. It also makes me question other potential customer service issues. There are other resellers that DO NOT have the same return policy!

I needed two books from the CIB series. I knew by reputation that Academic Superstore had great prices so I ordered my books from them. I submitted my required paperwork via email. I got a quick response and my order was shipped that day. It arrived within three days. I am very happy with the whole transaction and am considering purchasing future products from Academic Superstore.

I am a repeat customer with Academic ID on file. Despite this Academic Superstore held up my order until I sent in a new academic Id. Once they processed the order, they added sales tax, even though I am an academic customer. When I finally got through to customer service, the customer service person was conciliatory, took 15 minutes to credit the sales tax, did not send the copy of the invoice that he promised and told me that if I wanted to avoid problems in the future that I should place orders by phone and not use the Academic Superstore website.

POOR! Electronic Download Software - BACKORDERED?

I purchased MindManger from their site on Saturday evening. Per their FAQ page: ESD could take 1-3 days to verify student status and purchase eligibility. I understood this. But on Monday afternoon my order status says BACKORDERED. How in the world can an Electronic Download be backordered? This doesn't make sense.

I looked at Campus Tech first, but they wanted a $10 processing fee for ESD. The processing fee is more than the S/H charge for the boxed version. But, with campus tech they check your student status immediately and you get your download link quickly. Should have gone with Campus Tech.
This is the my first and only purchase with Academic Superstore.

Oh, one last complaint. I kept checking the status of my order over the weekend. All day Sunday, their site kept giving me a Server Load error. I was understandably worried. I just spent $150 on a software download from a site that I couldn't access for a full day. I started wondering if I had been ripped off.

The Academic Superstore has a wonderful website. I found everything I needed fast and Accurately, and customer support was very courteous. However, my order was delayed by backorder. By the time I found out about the backorder it was too late to cancel and reorder through a different company. The Academic Superstore has a great selection of products and some really unbeatable prices, but I still do not think that I will continue business with the Superstore.

It took over 2 weeks for Academic Superstore to send me a link for an electronic software download. The checkout process at Academic Superstore gave me the impression that I was getting my software package in the mail (for eg, it even gave me an [albeit invalid] UPS tracking number!) They have a student checking system which takes your student id and does instant verification. After that, I did not hear back from the store for two weeks! I'd rather pay a few cents extra and go to Best Buy and get it immediately. I will never shop here again.

Easy, found exact item I wanted with great discount. Only problem was would have preferred USPS to my P.O. Box over UPS, UPS has problems delivering to the dorms and there's no way to tell when they're going to be there. Most university students prefer to pick up their packages at the university post office, and some dorms prohibit or severely restrict to-door delivery services.

Took the order status at least 2 extra days to convert from processing to back-ordered once the eligibility information was submitted. Customer servicde rep "didn't get it." My dissatisfaction was not with the ground shipping process. It was with the inability to get information indicating the reason for the delay in shipment. Once the status changed to back-ordered, I still had no idea of how long it would be before shipping occurred.

This was my first purchase. My fax with discounting information did not go through. I called and was asked to re-fax and then call back after 30 minutes to confirm receipt. She was most pleasant and helpful. My delivery took place on time after the fax was worked out. Academic Superstore will be the first site I check with before any future purchases.

I purchased a expensive text book as a gift. The book was put in a UPS box with a little useless inflatable packing thing that did nothing to prevent it from moving around and bending the corners of the book. Perhaps students are not fussy when they receive text books but art and design books at Christmas should be handled with more care!

Order was placed and it looked like items were in stock. Two days later received notice that a partial shipment had been set the main items of the order were still processing. Spoke to agent who indicated items were out of stock and delivery from the manufacturer was scheduled for 12/17. Called on 12/17 and order was now not expected to be received until 12/19. Ordered items from someplace else and cancelled with Academic superstore. Refund was promply placed.
