Deceptive Business Practices

I ordered a $299 room air purifier; the phone sales person said I will have it in a week. When I checked on the status a week later, I read "in process" meaning it will to be shipped by the manufacturer. Whereupon, I called Allergy Buyers Club. Their Customer Service next told me it was "back ordered" and not to expect it for another 3 more weeks. Next, they said they "only learned about it" after I placed my order but, of course, they did not notify me there will be a delay. After additional questioning, I found out that Allergy Buyers Club is a "middle man" not a distributor. They have no inventory. It's a deceptive business practice to take the full amount for a product that is unavailable to ship without informing the customer it's back ordered.

I purchased a vacuum from them from Georgia. It arrived at my door in Massachusetts three days later in perfect condition. The price was fair. They sent a catalog with the order. They helped me when I wasn't sure of what model I wanted. They helped me tremendously. I would recommend them not just to my friends, but to my family as well. They are good people in my book.

I purchased a $600 air cleaner with no problems. When I needed to replace the carbon filter, I called, they looked up the unit and shipped a new filter. It was the wrong one.
It has now been over a year of calls, picking up the replacement, not picking up the wrong one and multiple calls and promises. Now they say it's been too long and they can't do anything. And it was their mistake in the first place! So I guess I'm stuck with a $250 filter that doesn't fit my machine. They have great info and are very helpful on the buying side but watch out if something goes wrong. They'll find a way to rip you off. |

I have had some awful experiences with AllergeyBuyersClub.com recently. I bought a Violight toothbrush sanitizer and then had problems with it turning on (2 months after receiving it). I emailed them and they told me I needed to talk to the manufacturer, not them.
I asked about delivery on another item and they sent a rude email asking why I waited so long to contact them (I told them in the email that I was dealing with a life threatening health problem with a family member). Then they told me to contact UPS because this wasn't their problem. Their customer service reps have been rude. This has been a really bad experience. All of the products they sell can be purchased elsewhere. Patti |

Very nice people. Good deliveries. Purchased over $3,000 worth of equipment from them and when I had my first problem, they could only talk nice. Refused to help, but talked real nice.

I suffer from seasonal allergies and am allergic to dust. This site has provided me with tons of useful info on dealing with my allergies and has earned my loyalty. Don't just go there to buy stuff - you can learn a lot from their articles and advice.
Further, I really like the way they review and rate products with a star system -- and find they have a great selection of stuff. I have bought three humidifiers, two dehumidifiers, a comforter, some sheets, and a sinus irrigator from them over the past few years. The order confirmation emails and shipping status emails used to be crude but are now first rate and up to the standards of the best internet retailers. I have called customer service once and got a knowledgeable person pretty quickly. They only have people on duty during regular biz hours which is inconvenient (maybe this has changed since last phone call). I have not had to return anything but the package includes detailed instructions for returns. As a person who buys almost everything except gas and groceries over the web, I rate this site as excellent. |

This has been a really bad experience. First, they were slow in filling the order, although they charged my credit card instantly. They said I would get an email when the item was shipped. After a week I called to cancel the order. One person said it hadn't been shipped; another said it had. Then the same day I got a very confusing email that seemed to say the item was back ordered. They don't return phone calls. They don't work the hours they're supposed to be there. Finally, I received a coherent email saying that the item had been shipped. Update: 12-19-05. It gets worse. I have to return the item. It took repeated contact attempts before I finally got a return authorization #. They charge a $15 shipping and handling fee even though I am paying for the return shipping. Steer clear of this company if you value customer service.
Update: Jan.5,'06 They've had the returned item for 9 days and still no refund on the credit card. They are still not answering the phone or returning messages. The next step is to file a dispute with the cc company. |

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Web site malfunction, charge for shipping and no product, no product ordered. Called, Order cancelled and reordered. On hold FOREVER. Item not in stock. Said order would take 5 days to get from warehouse then another 10 days before it would get to my house. Never came. Called back. Order was never placed to warehouse by AllergyBuyer's Club! Again, reordered. Again said 5 days, then 10. I doubt if product will even arrive. Can't wait to see VISA bill to see how many times they charged me for all this...Shop somewhere else, this is absolute worst experience I have had purchasing online -- and I have been buying stuff online for 6 or 7 years!!!!

This is the MOST awful on line retailer. You dont get a real person if you are trying to reach someone in Order Status Dept. or Customer Service Dept. I left 5 messages nobody ever called me back. And when I finally got hold of a person (on the order line) they were rude and refused to answer my questions and address my concerns.
My order was 3 weeks late. And, NO return policy on bedding if you just opened a package!!! And, why dont they put a disclaimer when you are placing an order that the bedding items are not returnable! I would never shop there again. And, they are certainly the most expensive store in its category. |

The steam cleaner I ordered came very fast, works great. The video that came with the steam vapor cleaner was extremely helpful. I haven't had any issues whatsoever, so I
haven't had to call customer service. My order was received and shipped very quickly, though. Compared to the prices on similar items, this was a great deal. It has also been a tremendous help with my wifes sinus headaches - after cleaning everything with the steam vapor cleaner and also picking up some good air cleaners, her headaches are gone. I ordered a humidifier and filters on 11/16. My credit card was charged immediately for both items. The filters were received promptly. The humidifier was expected to take an additional 4-5 days according to the website. Since it has now been three weeks and no humidifier and no communication, I tried to contact allergybuyersclub.com for an update. My email to orderstatus@allergybuyersclub.com was returned as undeliverable despite my following a link in the order confirmation they had sent me. So, I followed a link on the website to customerservice@allergybuyersclub.com and that too was returned as undeliverable. I then tried calling and all I got was a recording saying to leave my name and number and someone would call me back. I am still waiting (12 hours later) and no call back has been made. I need the humidifier and at this point would cancel my order if I could and take my money elsewhere. What a huge disappointment. What terrible customer service.

Buyer beware - The Allergy Buyer's Club has a very strict return policy. You can't return anything without their approval; the 30 day guarantee is misleading, because it doesn't apply to bedding. The (very expensive) pillow I received has a strong odor, despite being described as having "little or no odor." I will not purchase from them again.

A positive past experience ordering through Allergy Buyers Club lead me to try them again. This time however my experience was far less satisfactory. The email confirmation had a link which was inactive. Calls to the main number were endlessly transferred. Finally I was told my info was not yet in the "system" -- though this hardly explained why I was sent an email with a dud link. I never received a tracking number or confirmation that my order had shipped. Again, after calling the number I was given a tracking number. My report at the break down of email confirmations etc. was once again met with a lame excuse. In short, the entire automated process has broken down significantly. I will never use this site again.
