I recently bought 2 water proof cases to hold my cell phones @7.95 ea at Dick's and found the same cases at harbor freight for 2.99 ea. Dicks customer service dept said it is not policy to refund the difference and nothing they could do. I pointed out that I just spent $2,000 a couple of weeks ago, I have shopped at dicks often, but it did not occur to me to look at the reviews, I found it very interesting to find out how unhappy many people were. DICK'S would rather loose a customer and a sale, than to break policy for $10.00. It is not the amount of money, but the principal. I guess I understand what the other people who did reviews were talking about, it was not just me who is unhappy with how customers are treated. They are very independent and carefree considering the state of our countries economy. I guess they feel confident their doors will not close. I am certain that Bass Pro Shops and LL Bean will welcome my business. The representatives at Bass Pro Shops and LL Bean are happy to accommodate people who support them.

After dozens of attempts online/ over the phone, Dicks Sporting Goods and Sports Authority will not process my order for a billiards table, for delivery to my Florida vacation home, because I live in the UK and my bank is in the UK, not the US.
I have complained, but all I get it this is their policy. Unjustifiable policy in my opinion, how many foreign owned rental properties are there in Florida. Thousands! |

It is sad to see so many unhappy people when it comes to Dick's online. I have shopped at this online store a few times and always had great customer service and items came right at or just before the time frame I expected them in. Everything I have ordered was exactly what I ordered. I will continue to shop at this online retailer and no I do not work for them.

Wow, I was getting ready to post a negative review and hoping I wasn't the only one. I'm glad to see I'm not...They had a poster IN STORE for an item I wanted to buy on the spot. It wasn't in stock, and I was directed to the online store. Couldn't buy it from their either.I was just going to make a simple complaint about adds for stuff you can't buy and crappy service, but I think the rest of the posts speak for themselves.I guess "Dicks" is the appropriate name for this store....

I placed a phone order on dec. 21 2008 for kids golf clubs a santa present. Was told by operator that product was in stock and was part of their guarantee delivery by christmas this was great news because we couldnt find our son a santa gift he wanted- looking on line we found dicks sporting offer for delivery before christmas---needless to say we were very disappointed when christmas eve came and no gift was delivered!!!!!We called on day after christmas to find out what happened and get our guaranteed order..Was told by customer service that they e mailed me and canceled our order by e mail, i told them i was not around my computer over the holidays so i never got thier e mail. I feel dicks should stand behind their promise because the operator never said check e mail for status was actually told by her the order was confirmed and i was given confirmation number...i will never shop at dicks unless they make this right!!

My worst web shopping experience ever. Item was listed as 'In-Stock'. I paid extra for 2 night delivery. Order must have been lost - I had to email and call "Customer Service" 3 times only to get the order 16 days later. Doubt it would have ever come unless I persisted. Customer Service was quick with the excuses and mis direction, in actuality they cannot tell if your item is in stock or not, if it has been shipped or not, help with a refund or credit.
It's your money but I will be using a reputable vendor next time. If the website says it is 'In Stock' I expect it to be 'In Stock'. If it is supposed to ship in 2 - 3 days then it should or they should contact me otherwise ASAP. Do not shop at this website. |

JAN 2009__Ordered punching bag for grandson for Christmas from Dicks Sporting Goods Online. It was sent from the Everlast company. Arrived in a timely manner. Box was split open half way around and taped up. Chain and swivel were missing. Called Dicks. They were very nice. They contacted Everlast and told them to email me. Everlast didn't. Called Dicks again. Dicks was very understanding and even refunded my shipping cost because of the problem. Dicks gave me Everlasts customer service phone #. Everlast told me to fax them the receipt and the details which I did. The chain and swivel arrived a week later.

I was completely satisfied with my shopping experience. I had recieved an Under Armor Zip Up shirt for Christmas that was too big. I waited three weeks after Christmas because of the craziness of returns and then I went into the store. I by this time had lost the reciept. The store completely honored my return and gave me store credit to look around for something else I would like to by with my money. I was very impressed with the in store experience.
I think that it is silly to get so upset at the associates that work in a store like that. They are overwelmed by the number of upset people right after Christmas. There is only so much an associate can do. |

Dick's is terrible. Online gift cards cannot be used at stores and shipping takes forever. Returns must be done by mail and are very slow. Customer service is unhelpful and the ordering process is extremely frustrating. For example, when I tried to use a 20% coupon on my order, it automatically applied the discount to my $8 skate guards rather than my $150 skates. Thanks a lot!! But then when I tried to move the skate guards to a separate order in order to maximize the discount (who wouldn't?) I had to start the whole ordering process over again. Very frustrating. All in all an irritating and frustrating experience. Stay away!

Received biking shorts as a gift. The shorts are described online to make you believe they have thick padding in the seat. They have near no padding. I am now told that they do not accept exchanges period. Basically, I now have to pay to ship my gift back to them and end up with nothing. Very poor product description and very bad return/exchange policy.

Online order entry screen did not deduct the 10% online promotion and did not take the gift card that I entered. When I called their cutomer service department Ryan badge # 73702 said that he could not apply gift card to order after it has been placed. I said that I did enter the gift card online at the time of the order and had no idea weather it took the gift card or not until I looked at my credit card statement online seeing that the credit card was charged the full amount. I asked Ryan if he could do a return and then charge the order like it should have been charged and he said that I would have to send my order back and then enter in a new order online. Does this sound right to anybody out there. Why do people make things so difficult.

I will never order from dicks online again. They make it clear NOWHERE in the ordering process that their standard shipping time is 9-12 business days (according to the customer service lady i spoke to)!!! WTF, are they sending it by camel? when i called to see if there was any way to expedite the shipping, they said no - it had already gone out. i called approximately 20 seconds after i got the email telling me it would take so long. i understand that if you want stuff super fast, you should pay extra, but since when is standard speed for usps almost 2 weeks? it isn't like i am ordering a bowflex either, it's a watch for god's sake. F dicks.

I purchased E95-elliptical machine worth ($1699.99) in May 2008 and received the delivery in June exactly after 21 days. The machine had a part that was bend that holds the fly wheel-----bottom line the machine is not operational. For last 16 days I have been calling them almost every day so I know the status and have talked to multiple customer service personal, supervisor, and sales manager so I can get a replacement. Every person I spoke to say we have no clue why we have not called you but we were suppose to call you and let you know the status.
Bottom line I got the word I will be receiving a new machine yesterday but I will have to wait for another 16 days and thats not acceptable. I told them I need to speak to Public Relations dept but they gave me a run around and I even called the corporate head quarters but they say since the purchase was made online they cant be of much help. I will not recommend anyone to buy anything with dickssportinggoods.com because the customer service does gives whole lot of run-a round. |

I ordered a swimmer's snorkel from Dick's recently, and instead of receiving the normal one as I ordered, I received the Freestyle one. I called customer service to address the issue, and instead of sending (or at least promising to send) a return packing slip, they instead insisted that all of their records show I ordered the freestyle one. Yeah, of course their records show that; that's what they sent me. But that's definitely NOT what I ordered. Don't shop at Dick's online, unless you're ok with getting a soccer ball instead of the basketball net that you ordered.

Hello... I wanted to say that I'm very happy with the service I received from Dick's Sporting Goods. I ordered an elliptical on May 21, and received several email notifications on shipment status throughout the process. I received my elliptical on May 29. I actually wasn't expecting to receive it until the first week of June, so I was pleasantly surprised. Also, per the Silver Service Delivery, it was delivered as promised, to the room of my choice. Excellent service!

After buying tennis racket strings at Dick's today, I left the racket there to be stringed as expected. However, when I got home I received a call saying that since I "had not paid" for the strings, the racket could not be stringed. I was quite surprised since I had definitely paid for the strings and I still had my receipt. What most surprised and angered me was that when I called back to tell them I had paid, the manager hung up on me without apologizing. Whatever happened to customer service and satisfaction? Dick's Sporting Goods' customer service is appalling.

Ordered a bowflex from Dick's. Come's in 5 boxes. 2 of the 5 boxes cancelled at shipping time. The other 3 show up. Customer Services says, 'we don't know what happened, we'll notify the warehouse'. Long story short, 5 calls later, they still don't know anything and haven't heard from this mythical "warehouse". Finally, the say let's pick up the 3 boxes delivered and just reorder. Stupid concept but I agree since they can't stick finger in butt. I gripe enough that they "request" a 10% savings on the reorder (not garaunteed though!). Our CS girl says they see that this item is in stock and it should ship next day. I get an e-mail that this item has been back ordered! Next call to CS says, 'we don't know what happened'. Well duh! I don't think they care much about supporting their customers. Wait till I spread this all over the web....
