I placed an order for 2 magazines in Novemeber for my children that were to serve as Christmas presents. I understood at there was a 10-12 week wait till I should expect them, and was prepared to wait till February. It is now April and still no magazines. I have contacted Magazine City numerous times and have been told to "wait longer". I finally got a gal today that said I should recieve one of the magazines by May 5th, but still couldn't give me info on the other. Frankly, I think it is a joke that you have to wait 6 months for a subscription to kick in, especially when you can only cancel your order in the first 48 hours. Seems like a racket to me. After all this waiting (for e-mails, on phones, and for magazines that never come) I will not be using them again! In the future I will just order straight from the actual magazine and save the months of headaches! We ordered two other magazine subscriptions that way at the same time and my other children have already enjoyed 3 issues of those! Ugh, they are not worth the trouble!

AVOID THIS BUSINESS!! I ordered a subscription nearly 9 months ago, and my credit card was immediately billed. After the 12-week "waiting period" I still had no magazines. I called and they assured me the magazine would be coming in 3 weeks. They offered me another free subscription for my trouble. Neither magazine ever arrived. I've been trying for the last 2 weeks to contact their customer service, and can never get through. TOTAL RIP OFF!!!

I ordered a subscription through Magazine City on December 8, 2008. I have inquired several times as to why I have not recieved the magazine and have heard nothing back. They did charge my credit card immediately. I just spoke with Customer Service at the magazine that I ordered, and they have not yet recieved the information for my subscription from Magazine City. I will NEVER order another magazine through Magazine City. I would rather pay more than support an organization that does business like this. The Customer Service person at the magazine also mentioned that they have nothing but probems with Magazine City.

The bone heads took my 41.00 and promised two new and different subscriptions but only delivered two renewels.I CONTACTED THEM AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THE PUBLISHER ON THIS MATTER AND STRAIGHTEN IT OUT MYSELF.I have been waiting for over 4 months for these new subscriptions TO ARRIVE. I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Magazinecity.com, Magazinecity.net and any of the other names this company uses. I ordered an international gift subscription and my friend has not received a single copy almost a year later. I have called the company and they claim no refunds after 48 hours. I have tried emailing them 7 times over the year and they have yet to respond. I contacted the Richmond BBB and the company has told them that they have issued a refund. I'll believe it when I see it. Please contact the Richmond BBB and the Virginia Attorney General to get your complaint on file.

Ordered a subscription 6 months ago and haven't received a single issue! I've been trying to get a refund but their customer service is impossible to reach.
This company uses the dishonest scheme to charge your credit card with a subscriptions and tells you that because they handle so many orders your magazine may take up to 2 months to be delivered at your door. Well, the magazinies will never arrived because after two months you cannot longer open a dispute with your credit card company and they get to keep the money. I bet other people just forget they even ordered anything. Bastards! |

I can say with confidence that my experience with Magazine City has been, by far, my worst online shopping experience so far. It is July 2008 and I still have not received a magazine subscription for a November 2007 order. Customer service was no help at all, failing to provide accurate information regarding the arrival of the first issue during any one of the five calls I made and never following up via email (at their request) after explaining that they would "investigate" the issue. I canceled my order today and will never do business with them again.

Ordered Quiltmaker Magazine 4 months ago through Magazine City and have not yet received the first issue. Emailed Magazine City 4 weeks to request status without response. Phoned Quiltmaker today and they have no record of subscription for me. Phoned Magazine City and they gave me the standard line that my first issue should be received shortly. They refused to give me a refund. Unfortunately it is too late to claim back on my credit card. I seriously doubt I will receive anything for my money!
Update Sept 9 2008. - It has now been six months since we ordered and paid for our subscription. We again contacted the magazine publisher and they have not received our order. Called Magazine City again today. They are experts at shuffling you into some non-existant person's voice mail. The money you lose is only exceeded by your aggravation! |

Magazine City does not deliver what they advertise as far as customer service and delivery of the magazine subscriptions offered on the website. Good luck getting in touch with any representatives from the website and calling them on the phone will have you sitting on hold for a long time only to have them hang up on you. They will charge your credit card instantly and you will wait longer for you to get the magazine than it would take to subscribe for it through regular mail. THE BEST PART, if you go to the website of the magazine publisher, you will find that they offer a better price than what you will find at magazine city! Don't be fooled by this scam. You might get what you pay for just as advertised but my experience has been negative at best. I am having my credit card company remove the charge and go after magazine city for the refund.

Magazine City sucks horribly. I placed an order in November '07 as a gift for a family member. I expected, of course, that it would not arrive by Christmas, but thought maybe by early February. It is now June '08 and my relative has yet to receive an issue. I had called them back at the end of April and the snotty salesperson told me that I should expect an issue by May 15 (note, 6 months after order was placed). I soooo did not want to give them my business at this point and wanted to cancel the subscription. I was denied that right and then I informed them that I would cancel payment on my visa. I was then threatened by the increasingly snotty saleswhore with a collection agency. So I decided to wait....and wait...and I'm still waiting, now 7 MONTHS LATER! I called the 1-800 # today and was placed on "ignore" for 10 mins and then a recording told me to call back later and I was disconnected. Funny, they were quick to take my money. Thieves, they are.

I ordered books of crossword puzzles in 11/07 for my Mom's Christmas present and she still doesn't have them in 05/08!! I called once, they said they were coming. They lie! Do not order from them! They are a rip off! I want people like me to see this hopefully before they order so I'll keep saying this to make the 200 word minimum so epinions will help get the word out there....they are a rip off and they do not fulfill their orders. Do not order from them! I will never order from them again and I'll probably never get my money back since I have waited past the 3 month period for that....sure...they are in the mail! I too was charged immediately. Calling gets you nowhere. You're immediately put on hold and then hung up on after holding for six minutes. It's been 7 months, no magazine. Oh, and the spam I get just makes me angry since I feel violated by this company and their lack of customer service. I will be disputing the charges with my credit card company. Hopefully, I will get my money back since I will most likely never get the magazine. |

I'm from Japan and ordered US weekly and Cosmopolitan this summer August, 2007. I paid about 250 US dollar immediately. But at this time, January 2008, I haven't receive anything yet. I confirmed that they have my correct address and they have my ID number by calling the Customer Service in November.
