With claims of being the smoothest sipping tequila ever produced, the Patron Spirits Company's Gran Patron Platinum Tequila is created using hand selected Waeber blue agave grown in the hills of Jalisco, Mexico. The agave is pruned, steam baked, triple distilled and aged to provide a superior taste. Each 750 ml bottle is a piece of art in itself, handmade from crystal and polished, hand signed and numbered with an etched label. The bottle is held in a handmade, collectible level quality curly maple wood box. Minimize

Only "grand" here is the price...

Pros: VERY nice presentation, visually impressive

Cons: Sorry, but a $200 blanco that tastes like a $30 tequila is off limits.

The Bottom Line: Go ahead and try it. Only you can decide if this blanco is really worth $200...

Review: Great to see (finally!) a larger and updated list of tequilas up for rating. I wonder why Gran Patron Platinum is at the top of the list. Being a long-time blanco tequila worshipper, I can easily name 10 better tasting brands that cost a small ...

Good but not great...

Pros: Smooth, with a nice blend of agave and peppery after notes. Mixes quite well.

Cons: Disappointing as an "ultra premium". Simply not worth the asking price in this reviewer's opinion.

Review: First off let me start by saying that if you consider Jose Cuervo Gold to be tequila... then this review is not for you. If you can spot the taste of 100% pure agave with a blindfold, and know the difference between a repasado and an anejo, then read on. ...
