MXL 990 Condenser Mic

Pros: Very affordable mic with a bright, airy sound. Becoming more and more popularly used.

Cons: Cannot be used unless you have 48V phantom power. Mainly captures higher frequencies.

The Bottom Line: At this price it is a great addition to any mic collection. Not for the user who wants a mic that captures more of the frequency spectrum.

Review: I purchased this mic sometime back and it was packaged exactly as shown. It included the mic, shock mount, mic stand adaptor, and came in a plastic storage/carrying case. At under $70 I thought this would be a good purchase for my first condenser mic ...

Pros: very nice sound.

Cons: very sensitive on all sides. The trim on your mixer must be adjusted just right.

Review: This is nowhere near the best microphone you can get, nor is it the worst. It's great for mostly studio applications, and some live recording instances as well. when you buy it, MAKE SURE YOUR MIXER HAS PHANTOM POWER. For it's price, it's definately one ...
