Effective, much safer than clippers; noise may be a factor

Pros: Powerful enough for multiple/big dogs without the inconvenience and expense of batteries

Cons: You'll need to protect your eyes and your dog's: nail bits and dust fly about.

The Bottom Line: This is safer than clippers and worth the expense, but may require training your pooch. A dog afraid of clippers would need that too, though.

Review: I bought this for one of my dogs who just has a weird quick and thick, thick nails (hard to clip through, clipping puts pressure on the quick, and the thick claw hides the very end of the quick). Trimming with clippers is not an option at all with her. ...

The Oster Nail Grinder Kit: Perfect For Your Show Dog or Best Friend!

Pros: Safe, effective, compact, and easy to use, you can't get any better!

Cons: Your dog may have to get used to the sound.

The Bottom Line: The Oster Nail Grinder Kit is the pet owner and groomer's new best friend (aside from your dog, of course :))
