Pros: reliable connnection, fast downloads, 3Com reputation
Cons: installation hassles, not as flexible as external unit, not cheap
The Bottom Line: For non-networked desktops only, but make sure you can return it if you can't get it to work with Windows Me.
Review: In almost 20 years of computer use, I have never been so frustrated trying to install a component as I was with this modem. I'm no techie, but usually if I follow instructions, I can pop a component in and have it up and running in a few minutes. No...

Pros: Fast and easy install! Works great in 98 thru 2000 (including ME)!
Cons: A bit pricey compared to some DSL modems, but well worth it!
The Bottom Line: Great modem, easy install. 3Com has great support, just ashamed that it won't work with HP computers.
Review: After having many issues with the Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) provided DSL modem, the USB Speedstream 4060 from Efficient Networks, I went out and bought this modem.
This modem proved to be the missing link to my main system. The previous... |

The installation was very simple, but neglected to install virtual private networking. This set me back about an hour with tech support untill I spoke with... |

Pros: Looks cool and "sings"
Cons: goes through "power cycles" fast!
The Bottom Line: It's a cable modem that works - need I say more?
Review: I got this from AT&T @Home cable service. Some people had trouble installing this thing, although it was so simple. Plug in the cable internet line in the back, the AC Adapter power chord, and your network cable. Then install the driver and you're...

Pros: When it works it's fast
Cons: Poor customer support
The Bottom Line: Too many problems to be recommended. 3Com can't offer me a viable solution and are leaving me out in the cold.
Review: I got this modem as part of a promotion at work. I was excited that I'd be getting this little device free and was eager to install it. However, as soon as I installed this ADSL modem into my computer (following all instructions), I got a blue screen...
