(Un)official car of the Epinions auto section

by   mkaresh , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Apr 22, 2005
Pros: Sophisticated styling, handling
Cons: Cramped rear seat, ride might be too rough and noisy for some
The Bottom Line: The best all-around compact for those who enjoy driving.
Review: The Top Reviewers and Advisors at Epinions are a fairly diverse bunch, but they tend to have a couple of things in common. They tend to put a high priority on driving enjoyment. And they tend to not have a boatload of cash. So I guess it should come as ...

Mazda 3: Great Car for the Money

by   nabdaman316 ,  May 20, 2005
Pros: Fun to drive, upscale and classy look inside and out, safety ratings, Mazda reliability
Cons: Road and wind noise, some small items that seem to be oversights by designers.
The Bottom Line: Well-equipped car that is cheaper that a similarly equipped car in its class.
Review: I purchased a new 2005 Mazda 3s in March because I had lost my first car, a Pontiac Grand Am, when I was broadsided by an SUV. After the aftermath of that settled, I began looking at cars to replace it. I wanted a brand new car that had a good all-around ...

Cons: Small fuel tank,a few minor problems.

Review: This review focuses on features found on the Canadian Mazda 3 sedan(GS in Canada,3i in USA). The first time I saw a Mazda 3 was in the advertisement on TV. Personally,I found the zoom-zoom commercial annoying more than anything, especially that ...

2005 Mazda3 GT test drive impressions

by   castlevermin ,  Jan 2, 2005
Pros: Smooth and powerful engine, quiet ride, comfortable interior.
Cons: Overdesigned instrument panel, understeer in tight turns at speed.
The Bottom Line: One of the top contenders in the compact car segment.
Review: I recently test-drove a 2005 Mazda3 GT sedan. The "GT" is a Canadian designation for top-of-the-line Mazda3--the one that comes with all the power gizmos and the 160HP engine. Below are my impressions on the car. Engine: The 2.3 liter engine ...

Well built economic sporty car

by   Granto ,  Mar 31, 2005
Pros: Sporty, looks GOOD, drives well.
Cons: iPod integration options lacking, more road noise than expected.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone. In it's price range, it is an excellent buy.
Review: I recently purchased my winning blue 2005 Mazda3 hatchback, and have about 1000 miles on it now. The options I chose were the color, the manual transmission, and the Antilock brakes/Side Air Curtains. To get that combination from dealer stock in ...

Big Bang for a Modest Price

by   maxapenny ,  Dec 15, 2004
Pros: Great looks, performance and comfort. Lots of convenient features for under $20k.
Cons: One minor: No trunk release on remote key fob.
The Bottom Line: The most quality, performance and comfort in any car under $20k. It is one of the best looking compacts on the market inside and out.
Review: Options: We got an S model sedan with a 4-speed automatic. We also selected the moonroof & 6 cd package, and sport package. Previous Cars: We traded in a fully optioned 2000 Ford Focus SE because of extensive mechanical problems. We have also ...

I still love my car!

by   schmere ,  Apr 17, 2006
Pros: - Great handling - Peppy - Very comfortable - Great sound system
Cons: - nothing yet
The Bottom Line: Best car I've ever had - reliable, sounds great, more-than-enough power, excellent road manners.
Review: Our last car was a 1993 Nissan NX. What can I say - the price was right; free. It was my mother-in-law's car, and she gave it to us when my wife and I were starting out. So, after cramming our 6' bodies into this miniature car for several years, our ...

Best new small car available

by   ynnek242 ,  Nov 27, 2005
Pros: fit/finish, handling and steering response, Pep, economy, price, styling
Cons: low scores on side impact,OK outward vision/r seat room, No int wipers
The Bottom Line: Standard model represents great value over Civic and Corolla plus it will give you some Zooom Zoom Zoom in the back roads for under 12k!
Review: Today, as I love test driving cars, I checked out the new Protege replacement, the Mazda 3. They had one equipped with just the optional A/C and it was $11,288. Special base model advertised "only 1 at this price" model. The 2 liter 16v motor had ...

Bigger than it seems!

by   laceyshawn ,  Sep 6, 2005
Pros: Beautiful style, modern, compact yet spacious, steering wheel controls, Bose sound system, very smooth handling
Cons: Cons? Not much. Weak A/C system is about it
The Bottom Line: Beautiful car. Very powerful, very good gas mileage (25-32) and a great sound system powerfully overshadows its only known weakness, a weak A/C system.
Review: I am a big guy...6'4, 230, and this car still has plenty of room to give. I was skeptical about it but I couldnt resist when I took it for a test drive. This thing has more power than ever imagined and drives incredibly smooth for its short wheel ...

Mazda 3 Zoom Zoom

by   gman1965 ,  Aug 6, 2005
Pros: Good Handling and Performance. Sporty exterior and interior Good vision and easy to drive.
Cons: Cold brake squeak and brake dust. Front windscreen wipers could be better.
The Bottom Line: The car excels in handling and performance and has a sporty interior and exterior. Would recommend the Mazda 3 if you are looking a small to medium class car.
Review: I have always owned hatchbacks and this sporty looking hatchback attracted me to this car. Also the Mazda reputation for good handling, performance and quality attracted me to this car. I test drove a number of cars before choosing the Mazda 3 and after ...
