Pros: Well written final book in the trilogy answering many questions from the first two.
Cons: In real life, not all lose ends can be tied up.
The Bottom Line: This is a must read for anyone who has children, works with children, or knows children. Dave Pelzer accomplished much because people helped and believed in him.
Review: This should be required reading for all people who work with children. A Man Named Dave shows that the human spirit can triumph over every imaginable set back with sufficient support from adults who care. The caseworkers who buys him a slushie,...

Pros: Excellent tale of real-life heroism.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Read this book and smile. There are still heros out there and you can be like the ones in this book.
Review: A MAN CALLED DAVE is a stunning testimony to the power of grace in a person's life. The book is the conclusion to the fantastic autobiographical series about Dave Pelzer begun with A CHILD CALLED "IT" and continued in THE LOST BOY....

Pros: Absolutely inspiring
Cons: You must read the first two books to completely realize the impact of this third book
Review: In his first book, A Child Called IT, Dave Pelzer described unimaginable abuse at the hands of his mother. The abuses that Dave Pelzer endured are both sickening and heartwrenching. After reading this first book, the reader is left wondering...

Pros: Gripping story that will make you cry for all abused children!
Cons: No cons!
The Bottom Line: Please purchase this book and the others in the trilogy to learn how abuse can affect the children receiving it, as well as other family members involved.
Review: Dave Pelzer knows how to reach out to people through the telling of his own horrific story. Majoring in Psychology and pursuing a Master's in Counseling, I'm often intrigued by stories like these. I know in the future, I will have to help a child in a...

Pros: Proof that Hope can have great rewards later in life.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: It goes to show that when you don't give up on life, when the going gets rough, Live can turn around and give you great rewards.
Review: I found this book to be an amazing conclusion to the first two books. I found this book to be incredible. I was really moved by all three books. I read the first one and found myself crying, not just for the events that took place in this book but for...

Pros: Dave has become a man who is warm, caring, and generous.
Cons: Unfortunately, Dave has had another bad experience in his life; his jealous ex-wife.
The Bottom Line: I very much recommend people to read Dave's book.
Review: Going through foster homes in his seven years of life has changed Dave. He has become a man who is warm, caring, and generous. Not only that, but he is also very responsible. He has made lots of new friends over the years he has been in foster care....

Pros: The long awaited conclusion to Mr. Pelzer's story.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: A must read for all who have read his first two books. Not only does it give Dave closure but all who followed his life story.
Review: After reading Mr. Pelzer's first two books I opened the pages of this book hoping to find that David was finally at peace. What a revelation to find out that there was still so much more unhappiness and sorrow in his life.
On the footsteps of... |
