Pros: a few stories, the analysis of writerly alienation
Cons: some bileous passage
The Bottom Line: Read Maupassant short stories instead, I think.
Review: Guy de Maupassant (1850-1893) was a master of concision. He wrote six novels, but it is as a writer of short stories that he is best remembered (and sometimes even read?). Sur l'eau (a title I would translate as "On the Water" Douglas Parmée ...
