American Girl Magazine

by   erin5oaks ,  Jun 16, 2001
Pros: It is filled with fun ideas and stories.
Cons: It only comes every other month.
The Bottom Line: This is one of the very best magazines for girls ages 9 to 14 years.
Review: This month when this magazine arrived at my house I was wondering how much longer we would be subscribing. This is not because I don't enjoy my daughter reading it or even looking at it myself. It is because my daughter is 13 and going into the eighth...

American Girl Magazine a Winner!

by   donnamr ,  Apr 3, 2007
Pros: Good focus on the 8-12 age-group. Variety of information, fictional and nonfictional.
Cons: Only 6 times per year.
The Bottom Line: This is a popular and wonderful magazine for 8-12 year-old girls, featuring a variety of subject matter and many activities.
Review: American Girl magazine is a bimonthly publication directed toward girls ages 8 to 12. It's been a consistent award-winner, having won, among others Parents' Choice Gold Awards in 1998 through 2002 and Parents' Choice Silver Awards in 2004 and ...

Plunge into my favorite magazine ~ American Girl Magazine!

by   jenniferkateab ,  Feb 9, 2008
Pros: True stories and fictional accounts in every issue, including puzzles, recipes, crafts and advice!
Cons: A little too pastel, (pink, purple, light blue, yellow) and kind of "girly"
The Bottom Line: Grab a magazine and plunge into it, you'll be sure to have tons of fun, doing puzzles, reading articles, and flipping through the pages of one of my favorite magazines!
Review: About a year ago, I purchased a bi-monthly subscription to American Girl Magazine for my daughter, and she also checks out back issues from her school library. Overall I've been impressed by the wholesomeness of this magazine for elementary school ...

A Great Quality Magazine for Girls

by   momofdaughters ,  Oct 25, 2007
Pros: A great educational, moral, entertaining, age appropriate magazine that both girls and parents will love
Cons: only 6 magazines a year
The Bottom Line: This is one of the best magazines out there for young girls. It is a quality magazine that promotes what it means to be a young lady today in America.
Review: American Girl Magazine is a great magazine. We just recently started getting it for my 7 year old daughter and we just love it. The magazine itself is geared towards 8 to 12 year olds, as the American girl dolls are as well. (The same company sells ...

Pros: Positive content, educational, self-esteem building.
Cons: Only six issues per year.
Review: The American Girl Company consistently turns out high quality products for young girls, and their magazine is no exception. Although advertised for girls ages 10 and up, my daughter, who recently turned nine, loves it. And so do I! I love to see her...

American Girl Magazine- very cute for girls 7-12

by   bradshawcl ,  Dec 12, 2008
Pros: age appropriate material, not boring
Cons: only comes every other month
The Bottom Line: We like it here.
Review: It seems like it's always good to rotate reading material, so there's only 1 magazine I take full time, then I toy around with others and when the subscription runs out we try something new. One magazine I decided to try out for my oldest was American ...
