Fast, Beautiful, Affordable

by   lawman67 , top reviewer in Computer Hardware at Epinions.com ,  May 6, 2006
Pros: Looks more like sculpture than a computer
Cons: No longer available
The Bottom Line: The most beautiful desktop computer on the planet remains a remarkably powerful and capable machine despite all the Intel-hoopla.
Review: Here is the final installment of my law office Mac series, the iMac G5 20” with iSight. I bought this computer over a month before my office even opened as I knew that the G5s were on the way out, and had made up my mind to save the Intel models for ...

Best Machine Apple ever made!

by   zerotsm ,  Aug 3, 2006
Pros: Runs OS-X as well as "Classic" OS9 programs.
Cons: Not upgradeable. No longer available. Factory mouse too sensitive to mouse clicks.
The Bottom Line: If you have old System 9 software that you still want to run, and also need to upgrade to OS-X for other reasons, this is the computer to buy.
Review: Introduction: I was running a "Blue" G3 for a long time, but it was showing it's age, and with Apple abandoning the Power PC chips, I figured that I had better upgrade now, or else I would not be able to run my "Classic" programs if that G3 ...

This is one Apple that's not rotten!

by   DennisM ,  Jul 19, 2005
Pros: Great design, clear screen totally compact!
Cons: Be careful of the LCD screen, as it can be damaged!
The Bottom Line: This is one great computer, easy to use , with a great ergonomic design! Time will tell if it will hold up for the future!
Review: I must admit that Apple and I go way back. From a IIci years ago, to my current G5 with a 20" screen! What a change, from day to night. The current G5 is a one piece configuration with everything hidden or built-in right in back of the LCD screen. ...

This is why Apple is king when it comes to hardware design!

by   bunwhisper ,  Jul 5, 2005
Pros: A gorgeous machine, fast, fun to use--its a Mac!
Cons: Dont by Rev. A--even used. There are reliability issues with it.
The Bottom Line: A great machine for the high end user on a low-end budget!
Review: I bought my 20" 2 gHz G-5 in May 2005. I waited for the Rev. B, as there were some capacitor and power supply issues with Rev. A. The wait was worth it--this is the most elegant and easy to use Mac ever. I've had Macs since the days of the Mac Plus and ...

Computing made fun again

by   a1lostnomad ,  Jul 6, 2005
Pros: Small Footprint, Huge Screen, Built-in Everything (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Screen, Etc..)
Cons: Looks too good, all my other stuff looks like crap now.
The Bottom Line: Take the Mac plunge and you won't regret it.
Review: Quite simply, my iMac has turned me into a computer nerd all over again. It really does just work. Stacked spec to spec against most PC's the price really is very reasonable. I got my iMac G5 20" with built in Airport (Wi-Fi, G) and Bluetooth for $1600 ...

Pros: Maybe not the Holy Grail, but darned close!
Cons: None so far! I'll let you know when I find a problem.
The Bottom Line: Definitely Recommend!!! A . A fabulous computer; looks cool too!
Review: I regularly use both Macs and Windows desktops at a major university. But HEY! When you add Mac OS X Tiger -- UNIX with an interface as beautiful and intelligent as Travel Channel's Samantha Brown -- to the jaw-dropping 64-bit performance of a Shelby ...

Pros: Great Design, Beautiful Screen, Easy to Use
Cons: Low Upgrade Possibility, New OS lacks Software, Noisy Superdrive
The Bottom Line: Buy this computer. Operating system is more dependable, no virus', few errors, great computer.

Almost perfect PC

by   davebarnes ,  May 30, 2005
Pros: 1. powerful 2. quiet 3. beautiful design 4. excellent monitor
Cons: 1. quiet, but not totally silent
Review: Our new iMac (20-inch, 2GHz, 2GB memory) replaced our Windows PC. This is a great machine. The Mac OS X (we are running 10.4.1, Tiger) environment is so much easier to live with than Windows. The software in iLife (iTunes, iPhoto, etc.) are a joy to ...

A great computer at a wonderful price!

by   usonianm ,  Aug 8, 2005
Pros: Styling, robust operation, upgradable features, small footprint
Cons: Customer service is a long drawn-out process (but I hear better than most.)
Review: Cutting-edge, sophisticated styling, unsurpassed performance, plug and play operation, what more can you ask for in a home computer. I opted for the bluetooth wireless keyboard and mouse which works flawlessly. The built-in airport card is robust and an ...
