Is Cinema Display suitable for colour critical work? Read and find out!

by   creativeid ,  Jul 27, 2007
Pros: Colour accuracy is spot on (colour calibrated)
Cons: Back light not as even as I expected.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended display if colour accuracy is important but can't afford Eizo or other VERY high end displays
Review: After a careful consideration, I've purchased the Apple Cinema Display 30". As much as I would have liked to wait and got my hands on a new model (whenever that might be), I had to bite the bullet and get one. It might be aging in terms of specs but the ...

Apple Cinema HD 30" LCD Monitor (M9179LL/A)

by   fcriddle ,  Jun 8, 2007
Pros: Sharp text, graphics, Versatile mount, Two USB 2.0 and firewire ports, Easy hookup and setup.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended! No other monitor currently on the market compares to this one in size, price and display quality.
Review: I've been the proud owner of Apple's 30" Cinema HD display for about a month now. I've admired the unit in our local Apple Store for a couple of years and a recent price drop from $2499 to $1799 motivated me to buy it. I've hooked the monitor to my ...

A very good display

by   gnarlodious ,  Apr 30, 2007
Pros: Elegant and beautiful. Powdercoat aluminum is extremely durable. Display surface is very tough.
Cons: HEAVY! Expensive. Seems to run a little hot.
Review: I've been running the 23 incher for about a year now and am very pleased with it. The DVI system is nicely integrated with MacOSX and I use the rotating feature often as the display is on a VESA articulating arm. The sleep and brightness controls are ...

It's all about the aesthetics

by   dal20402 ,  May 25, 2005
Pros: Beautiful case, excellent brightness/contrast, good color, good integration with OS X
Cons: No alternate inputs, no pivot feature, slight shading at edges, questionable quality
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for general use (and drooling admiration), provided the particular unit does not have pink tint. There are probably better choices for control freaks.
Review: When I bought my Power Mac G5, I knew I wanted more work area than my Samsung 193p was capable of displaying. As the G5 is happy to drive two monitors out of the box, I decided to add a 23" or 24" widescreen display. The Dell 2405FPW was not available ...

Review of Apple Cinema Display 23" Aluminium

by   therealvarta ,  Apr 15, 2006
Pros: Colors, greyscale, mechanics
Cons: Connectivity, flexibility, black-level, compatibility with ATI graphics cards
The Bottom Line: Choose this if looks are most important, avoid if PC compatibility is important
Review: Review of Apple Cinema Display 23" Aluminium A tear of cleaning fluid killed my Formac Gallery 2010 Platinum, which had served me for more than three years. I'd rather had preferred to keep that otherwise flawless and well-designed display, but 1200 ...
