Big step forward from their last 23"!

by   rasi2290 ,  Oct 6, 2006
Pros: Thin .75" bezel, light, gorgeous aluminum cabinet, compatible with any Mac or PC with DVI.
Cons: Price. No height adjustment. Buttons are touch-sensitive and only work inside OS
The Bottom Line: It's all about priorities. This is without question the most visually impressive 23" monitor available, but it lacks features available on cheaper alternatives.
Review: I've been staring at Apple monitors all day long for the last 12 years or so, and to be perfectly frank, I was never thrilled with the original HD Cinema Display. Not in the 23", or any other size. It was absurdly expensive for the performance, it was ...

Great Working Space, Quality Image - a Comparison to the Dell 20" Flat Panel

by   jktucker ,  May 1, 2005
Pros: Quality image, no jags when running vector graphics programs.
Cons: Expensive. The stand tilts but doesn't raise or lower.
The Bottom Line: like a breath of fresh air, finally enough space to see your work. Provides a quality picture. I'll be saving up for my next one.
Review: When I set out to find a new monitor for my home office set up, I looked at the Mac and the Dell models. I let price make up my mind-- the Dell 20" flat panel won out. When I asked for a new monitor at work, I went with the 23" Apple. One of the ...

23" Aluminum Apple Cinema Display

by   kerijane1 ,  Oct 21, 2008
Pros: Style, Quality, Great color accuracy, Bright, Solid stand, Good Value, Tidy Cable Management
Cons: USB Firewire ports can be awkward to reach. Some PC videocards don't work with it
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent monitor that is well worth the high price. For Photoshop or graphics it's unbeatable for the price. Use on a PC is a gamble.
Review: The 23" Apple Cinema Display is my favorite display so far. I originally bought it for use with a PC which had an incompatible video card. Replacing the card got it to work with this monitor. A free utility called WinACD helps enormously when using the ...

Excellent Display: Expensive But Worth It, Even With Shortcomings

by   t_o_n_y ,  Mar 17, 2009
Pros: Compatible with older DVI connections, Excellent Image Quality, Attractive Design, Portable, Durable
Cons: Expensive, lacks features of newer Apple displays, clunky cord.
The Bottom Line: This 23" Display is a pleasure to use with a Notebook computer, providing that desktop feel when needed.  Although too expensive it promises durability and has unsurpassed quality.
Review: It can be confusing to distinguish amoung many similar Apple Cinema Displays, but it is very important to do so because of the compatiblility issues I will discuss in this review.  The 23" Cinema Display I am reviewing here is the M9178LL/A (that's ...

Great Monitor for Productivity or Movies!

by   kappaknight ,  Feb 27, 2008
Pros: Work seamlessly with Macs and MacBooks, adds USB and Firewire ports
Cons: cost, no built in iSight cam for direct use with iMac Pro's
The Bottom Line: A great addition to any Mac setup if you can't afford the 30" version. =)
Review: I bought the new Apple HD Cinema 23" monitor to connect to my 15" MacBook Pro. Although the laptop is great for daily use and travel, I wanted more visual real estate when working from home. While expensive, this monitor has been a great purchase! ...

Review: I have the dell xps and a mac.I had the 19"inch dell's ultrasharp moniter and just recently bought the apple 23" hd moniter. I like the apple moniter because you can display alot more thing and my 19"inch couldn't, so i ditch the dell moniter and use ...

Very good. Buy it.

by   davebarnes ,  Jan 30, 2006
Pros: image quality, style
Cons: does not have an analog input
Review: I own: 1. Samsung 191T+ 19-inch LCD monitor 2. Apple 20-inch LCD monitor 3. Apple 23-inch LCD monitor. The Apple 23-inch LCD monitor is very impressive. My only real complaint is that Apple does not make a 25-inch version as the 30-inch is too ...

Nightmare - Going back (UPDATED)

by   rslifka ,  Jul 15, 2005
Pros: None. (it never worked - how can I say?)
Cons: Doesn't work on PC as advertised.
The Bottom Line: If you're a PC user STAY FAR AWAY. Compatibility is zero. (UPDATE) Adapter replaced, works fine.
Review: I should have listened... countless PC users have had nightmarish experiences getting this monitor to work (see the Apple support forums, and Google of course). We've tried 4 video cards (with increasing 'horsepower') on an otherwise perfectly ...
