Pros: Phenomenally huge storage capacity, excellent usability, and chic, trendy design.
Cons: It 'glitched out' on me a couple of times, forcing me to reinstall the system.
The Bottom Line: The newer iPod mini may be 'sexier', but this top-of-the-line classic iPod excels in sheer capacity.
Review: "How about an iPod?" That's what my mom said as she was trying to think of something to give me for Chanukkah that I actually wanted, and didn't already have. This always stumps her every time the holidays or my birthday roll around, and resorting to ...

Pros: Excellent design, engineering, sound quality and functionality. Large capacity hard drive is fantastic!
Cons: Display screen, while very good, is still somewhat dim and difficult to read.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended! If you want and/or need a portable, high quality music and audio book playback and data storage device this is the item for you!
Review: I have only been using my new Apple iPod 40GB portable music player for four days now. Discounting my intial confusion and frustration concerning the installation of the communication software on my notebook computer, I have been extremely pleased with ...

Pros: Outstanding ease of use and convenience get your entire music collection into digital format.
Cons: Some sound quality issues. Limit iTunes Music Store use and avoid the FM transmitter.
The Bottom Line: Excellent device for converting your collections to digital format, with several caveats re sound quality that can be effectively addressed with the solutions discussed in this review.
Review: 5/7/05 update: You can now easily get a direct-connection adaptor for your car for less than $300, and the attitude of the car stereo dealers has gone from laughing me out the door to telling me how quick they can do it for me! What a difference a ...

Pros: Design, feels like a winner
Cons: Price
The Bottom Line: This is the gold standard for a reason.
Review: Ive held the future of computing in my hand and its name is Ipod. For those unaware, the Ipod is Apples hugely successful music playing computer, which has been so successful it has spawned a dozen competitors. How successful is the Ipod? This year ...

Pros: Lots of refinements versus prior versions, more compact size!
Cons: Battery life slightly shorter than prior 2G iPods, battery glitch with hibernate mode
The Bottom Line: 40 GBs is probably overkill, but it's nice to have! For most users, the 20 GB model will suffice.
Review: I received a 2nd generation 20 GB iPod for Christmas last year. It has been the best consumer electronic device that I've ever owned, trailed by my iMac and my PowerBook. For my birthday, I got an 3rd generation iPod 40 GB model. When reading this revi ...

Pros: sleek, sexy, compact design, it doesn't get any easier to use
Cons: limited battery life, get the extended warranty, power drains when not in use, scratch prone
The Bottom Line: According to Wired News: "About 80 percent of Microsoft employees who have a portable music player have an iPod" Enough said?
Review: Ok, I'm a techno junkie. I love my gadgets. I love to tweak my computers. I'm a PC guy who works in Windows environments and has been a Linux hobbyist for years. Buy an Apple? Blasphemy! But you say they make the world's best MP3 player....and it ...

Pros: A stunning tool (along with iTunes) for managing and accessing a large music collection
Cons: a bit pricey, somewhat delicate, interface takes a bit of getting used to
The Bottom Line: For those with large collections and a desire to easily access music by artist, song title, playlist, genre, etc. anywhere you wish, you can't beat the iPod/iTunes combo
Review: The problem I wanted iPod to solve: I have over 1500 vinyl LPs and over 1000 CD's. My favorite cuts from the vinyl have been ripped onto my Mac hard drive, and of course the CD's are already digital files.....so, I wanted a single device that would ...

Pros: Sounds great, fantastic interface, elegant, reliable, durable, portable, nice integration with Macs
Cons: Cost (purchase & support), lame case (buy a different one)
The Bottom Line: Well worth it if you're willing to pay the Apple Tax!
Review: Now that the fourth generation iPods are out, you'll probably only consider getting one of these if you're looking for a good deal. The battery life may not be as good on the third generation -- but if that's not as important to you -- you might want to ...

Pros: Small and compact, very easy to use and holds over 400 full cd's.
Cons: expensive at $500 but still worth it.
The Bottom Line: Buy it... I researched mp3 players for weeks before buying our Ipod and I'm glad I spent the money on it and you will be too.
Review: I recently purchased the 40 gigabyte Ipod for my wife for Christmas and we just love it! It's also quite durable since my wife was so excited to get it she dropped it. It still works perfectly fine though. It's not cheap since the price tag is about ...

Pros: Sound quality, music browser, Itunes integration
Cons: Short battery life, non-replacable battery
The Bottom Line: The Ipod is an excellent MP3/MP4 player that is worth its high price.
Review: I purchased an Ipod 40GB (3rd generation), mostly for playing music and audio books (from Audible.com). On the Ipod, I now have 3500 songs and 30 audio books instantly accessible. I like the ease of searching for songs and books. The Ipod is ...
