Pros: Rock and Hopkins deliver a much-better-than-expected performance
Cons: tries too hard to be a *James Bond* movie at times.
The Bottom Line: Enjoy Bond movies? If so,you should enjoy Bad Company - in my opinion one of the best movies this year.
Review: UPDATE : 4PM-July 23rd,2002. I apologize to people who had to read this before my editing the review. I've just gone through the whole thing, editing spelling mistakes, grammatical errors ; I also got rid of all the needless comments. Sorry the...

Pros: The best actors and a great plot line.
Cons: nothing
The Bottom Line: If you don't see this movie, you are missing out!
Review: This is an one of a kind movie. It has comedy, action, a love story, and THE BEST ACTORS! The plot is great because it is about a poor man who didn't know he had a brother found out his brother was a cia top agent and died. He had to take his place...

Pros: Chemistry between Rock and Hopkins. Schumacher's restrained directing (!)
Cons: action scenes just a tad average.
The Bottom Line: Schumacher, Rock, and Hopkins seem, for the most part, to know instinctively how to play this fluff beautifully. I was vastly, criminally, guiltily entertained. My rating reflects it. Bravo.
Review: Chris Rock, playing street-wise Jake Hayes learns one day of a twin brother he never knew who worked for the CIA. The CIA needs Hayes to complete a mission to purchase a suitcase nuke from a renegade Russian scientist. One recruitment period, several...

Pros: Strong cast, clever script.
Cons: Hopkins' performance is somewhat problematic.
The Bottom Line: "Bad Company" is good cheap thrills. It's enormous fun, even when it's being deadly serious. Hopkins gives it gravitas. Rock gives it a wholesome touch of insanity.
Review: Genre films have a bit of a problem with criticism -- they're always vulnerable to the aspersion that each one is basically like the others. The Bond films are very vulnerable to this because it's true -- and the fans would be deeply disappointed if...

Pros: some good action, good acting by Rock and Hopkins, Interesting Premise
Cons: not a top-notch film, struggled to find an audience
The Bottom Line: Bad Company, was an interesting action film, taking a kid off the street and testing him with the safety of a nation.
Review: Bad Company Directed by Joel Schumacher Starring Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock 2002 Summer Release ---- 116 minute running time Cost of Production: $70 million World Box Office Gross: Just under $40 million ...

Pros: Chris Rock, Anthony Hopkins, action film
Cons: predictable
The Bottom Line: Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins are good in the film, fans of either should go. I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you.
Review: Bad Company stars comedian Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins. Together they are on a mission to save America from terrorists. This is not an unusual plot. The basic story consists of a suitcase sized nuclear weapon being sold by Russians to undercover CIA,...

Chris Rock ain't Bad, but the rest of the Company is pretty dull |
|||
|
Pros: Chris Rock, the Prague scenes, Garcelle Beauvais
Cons: Anthony Hopkins is wasted and the film's plot is clunky and dull
The Bottom Line: Chris Rock is great fun here, but the weak plot and lack of comedic chemistry with Anthony Hopkins strangles the film. There are laughs, but no thrills.
Review: If Bad Company were a better movie, it could have been the vehicle that finally shot Chris Rock up as a major movie star. Sure, everybody knows Chris Rock and lots of people love him, but if you think he's a movie star I've got two words for you: Pootie....

|
Pros: Anthony Hopkins, Chris Rock when he is funny, some action scenes
Cons: most of the plot, lack of chemistry, Rock's dramatic acting
The Bottom Line: Bad Company may be another no-brains Bruckheimer action adventure flick but certainly doesnt have the pizzazz of his previous efforts.
Review: Each new summer season at the box office offers many different features each one appealing to one demographic or another that are a total guess if they pass or fail. But there are also plenty of consistent films that appear season after season that many c ...

Pros: Lots of action, good cast, air of familiarity
Cons: Tired premise
The Bottom Line: This is a movie and not a film. It delivers entertainment without the hassle of substance.
Review: Chris Rock plays a street smart brother who fell off the wrong side of the tracks. He is going through some rough times when a little good luck, or so he would think, falls his way. Basically take any buddy movie, insert the recent events of nine eleven...

Pros: Some solid action, humour, and a pretty solid last half-hour.
Cons: There's nothing you haven't seen before.
The Bottom Line: Sit back and enjoy an afternoon with your favorite action cliches. Just don't forget to check your brain at the door.
Review: Joel Schumacher, the master of frachise-destroying disaster, teams up with Jerry Bruckheimer, the master of car chase/terrorist lights-camera-BOOM! disasters, in this summer's newest action-comedy, Bad Company.
So how is it? Pretty... |
