WASTE OF CASH! Get another brand!

by   smellssmurfy ,  Dec 21, 2007
Pros: Good picture, if it works.
Cons: It doesn't work!
Review: This worked great for about a month. Then the picture went screwy - like hot pink acid. After that, it just wouldn't start up. Sent it back... they said they had to fix a color wheel. A month later, the same thing... Fixed color wheel again. AND ...

Buy something else, not reliable at all

by   reno9410 ,  Aug 9, 2006
Pros: Good color when they work.
Cons: Not a good purchase for long term.
Review: I have had a PB8220 for about a year, I have sent it in at least 4 times for repair, tried replacing the bulbs for $350 a pop, but that doesn't help. The last time they sent a total replacement, rebuilt, and it didn't work right out of the box for longer ...

Great image, HORRIBLE reliability

by   schultzkp ,  Jun 28, 2006
Pros: Image quality was FANTASTIC and it was absolutely the best price for the quality.
Cons: Four projectors died on me (one was DOA out of the box), TOTALLY UNRELIABLE.
The Bottom Line: Although BenQ customer service is very friendly and responsive, I'd rather spend more money on a projector that doesn't break.
Review: If I had problems with just ONE of these projectors, I might not have given it such a bad review. But I went through FOUR projectors and TWO bulbs in the span of 7 months. The first projector stopped working after about 60 hours of use ...

Benq PB8220 home theater installation (very pleased)

by   just-a-guy ,  Sep 6, 2004
Pros: Picture quality, ease of use, adjusts to many viewing situations, dealing with costcentral.com
Cons: Fan noise on any projector is noticable (but not overbearing). Benq 8220 better than most.
The Bottom Line: Stop shopping, Buy it. Great picture easy to use. Join the growing trend of ditching a time sucking TV.
Review: We purchased the Benq PB8220 for home theater. We chose to do away with a TV in our home one year ago and we enjoy the extra time this life style affords. But, we wanted something to allow us to watch movies occasionally (selection at the movie ...

Impressive Entry Unit

by   maimonec ,  Dec 12, 2003
Pros: price brightness zoom
Cons: menu navigation
The Bottom Line: For the price, I'm not sure you could beat this for home theater use. Competitive products cost at least $600 more and often more than $1000 higher.
Review: My BenQ arrived last night, so I set it up next to the Infocus X1 I've been using as a substitute. There is no comparison between them (of course, for more than twice the money I expect to get better performance.) Note: I am using this projector ...
