Pros: See this for the dazzling animation and the gory blood-letting.
Cons: If this were a live action film, I probably would've waited for the dvd.
The Bottom Line: Brush up your Beowulf right now. This is one of those films that begs to be seen in the theater. Demons! Dragons! Jolie! Aaarghh! I'm heading back to the cinema!
Review: BEOWULF isn't exactly subtle. In the annals of barbaric Sword & Sorcery, subtlety doesn't much enter into the picture. This movie instead is over-the-top, gruesome, and oh so violent. And that's just the way we like our Beowulf. The story, written by ...

Review: Beowulf (2007) Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Screenplay by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary. From the Oldest Surviving English Epic. When I heard they were making a CGI version of Beowulf, I was quite intrigued. When I heard who the director ...

Pros: Visuals, performances, fight scenes, shocks
Cons: Not many
The Bottom Line: Legendary director Zemeckis delivers a down-and-dirty swashbuckler that is lightyears better than 300.
Review: In 507 A.D. Denmark, terror rains across the villages. That comes in the form of Grendel (Crispin Glover). King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) and Queen Wealthow (Robin Wright Penn) eventually find their help in the form of Beowulf (Ray Winstone) to slay the ...

Cons: See review re females' depictions
The Bottom Line: Excellent re-telling of an ancient epic tale

Pros: Six-pack solid action with great CGI carnage.
Cons: Pacing a bit slow in the middle of the film.
The Bottom Line: When looking at the film's dark motif you will probably see some basic behaviors and attitudes often presented in our society today.
Review: Ill be the first to admit I skipped the literary classic Beowulf in high school English, but with Beowulf trailers swarming the Internet I had to go see the movie. This animated movie Beowulf (2007) starts of like most adventures introducing ...

Pros: Really well done. Animation, Voice acting, story.
Cons: Only a select few theaters show the movie in 3 D
The Bottom Line: The ancient English Legend gets a long overdue well done screen treatment
Review: The oldest known heroic poem of the Anglo Saxons is BEOWULF. It is a tale that has been passed down since 1000 AD. Over the last 10 years, it has also been presented in a number of movies, but until now, none of them very good. The Legend of ...

Pros: Great story and animation; excellent characterizations
Cons: Purists will hate it
The Bottom Line: Another interpretation of Beowulf is accessible for those who wish to make comparisons. Just stop staring at Angelina when you make the final analysis.

Pros: Fantastic CGI animation, gripping story
Cons: The PG-13 rating is misleading, this is not one for the kiddies.
The Bottom Line: Inspiring Tale of heroism. Be cautious and aware of violent and graphic scenes
Review: the story Twas the 6th century and in the kingdom of Denmark there ruled a drunken king named Hrothgar, along with his Queen Wealthow. The Danish kingdom has conquered many lands and has collected many treasures ...

Pros: cgi, 3D effects, dragons and monsters.
Cons: cgi, 3D effect, dragons and monster overwhelm epic.
The Bottom Line: A good popcorn movie for Saturday afternoon
Review: Well, this week I had a choice between 'Beowulf' and 'An American Gangster.' I decided on 'Beowulf' because I wanted to test the waters of 3d again. I opted against 'Gangster' only based on it's length(running time). I just don't have three hours ...
