Original Thinking

by   radi ,  Apr 8, 2000
Pros: simple and direct in style, yet very powerful and stimulating work
Cons: ,,,,,
Review: "Beyond Civilization," the latest and, in many ways, most powerful work from writer/philosopher Daniel Quinn, is the first Great Book of the new millennium. In this latest and stunningly provocative work Mr. Quinn has brought into sharp focus...

by   dbirchall ,  Mar 9, 2000
Pros: It'll make you think enough to question the status quo.
Cons: It might make you think enough to question it.
Review: In "Beyond Civilization," Quinn steps across the line from allegory and storytelling through fiction, and into the realm of non-fiction reality. While his novels "Ishmael," "The Story of B," and "My Ishmael" made...
