I have never been so hooked on a video game.

by   houdini16409 ,  Feb 24, 2008
Pros: addicting, cheap
Cons: You will never be the best.
The Bottom Line: I would give Big Brain Academy two thumbs up because of the variety of games.
Review: My husband bought everyone in our family a Nintendo DS for Valentine's Day. I have wanted on for awhile now, but it was never a priority. I was so excited when I received one. I have never been a big fan of video games that take a lot of skill, ...

Keeps You Thinking And Also Promotes Brain Activity

by   Bigbroad55 ,  Dec 30, 2007
Pros: Promotes brain activity not just a regular video game
Cons: Does not keep track of what you are doing
Review: My daughter received this game as a Christmas Gift, the game is wonderful it keeps you thinking and also promotes brain activity. There are adding and subtracting games, look alike games, also draw and connect the dots. It also helps with adding money ...

Class is in Session (No gum chewing)

by   el_timmy ,  Feb 4, 2007
Pros: +easy to pick up and play +may prevent alzheimers +addicting and fun +simple
Cons: -needs more mini-games -Dr.Lobe only has one arm -you may grow bored of it
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a simple game to pick up and play, then I highly suggest this one. It's a perfect way to dust of that brain.
Review: Welcome to Big Brain Academy Shortly after the purchase of my Nintendo DS lite I needed to find another game for it, because Trauma Center:Under Knife wasn't cutting it for me (no pun intended). So I said to myself,"what better way to ...

Think, Think, Think with Big Brain Academy

by   patricknjacob ,  Oct 11, 2008
Pros: Differing levels, quick play, great for all ages.
Cons: Can be frustrating for avid gamers who try to test without practicing.
The Bottom Line: Well worth the $12 I paid for it in the used game section at Game Stop.
Review: I am a thief. I stole the think, think, think< i> line from Steve Burns of Blues Clues< b> fame. However, if you are thinking that Nintendo's Big Brain Academy< b>< i> on the same level as Blue and her friends, you are sadly mistaken.< p> ...

by   ms_pookie ,  Mar 5, 2007
Pros: Fun, addicting, thinking game
Cons: Can get frustrating
The Bottom Line: Big Brain Academy for the DS is fun and addicting. It is a thinking type of game and will offer many hours of fun.
Review: I love Big Brain Academy! My Experience Big Brain Academy (BBA) for the DS has been extremely addicting! To start, you must first create a profile. Each person has their own profile so they can collect medals and also keep track ...

fun and addicting, better than similar games

by   kyndthreds ,  Jul 6, 2007
Pros: Hours upon hours of fun, challenging at times, doesn't get boring, great price!
Cons: Some of the games can get boring after, but most of them are still fun!
The Bottom Line: I would recommend people buy this game, if they like these sorts of games or want to improve their brain!
Review: I actually really like this game, it's one of my favorites! I own the other very similar game, Brain Age, and find this one to be a lot more fun. It has a lot of different games that you can do and unlike Brain Age you can play it as many times as you ...

Big Brain Academy: More Smartening From Nintendo

by   GravityGirl ,  Jul 22, 2006
Pros: Games are fun, price is low
Cons: Progress is not tracked, not a lot of extras
The Bottom Line: The lack of modes does not keep this from being enjoyable, just from being enjoyable for a long time.
Review: Big Brain Academy (BBA) for the DS is the second in a line of “smartening” games for the DS. It is a shabby cousin to the other “smartening” game, Brain Age. One cannot avoid comparing the two games; not only are they from the same ...

Fun, but repetitive

by   sigsauerman ,  Aug 6, 2008
Pros: Some Games are good, Time-waster
Cons: Gets boring, repetitive, Childish
The Bottom Line: Get this game only for a child, because you won't enjoy for long it if you're 13 and above.
Review: The DS has been the focal point of Nintendo's many new brain-improving games. This is one of them. The first thing that strikes you when you start up big brain academy is the more casualness of the game. The game lacks the formality of Brain Age, and ...

Repetitive, gets old really quickly

by   hbj200 ,  Mar 21, 2007
Pros: Fun for a few minutes
Cons: Repetitive, harsh grading, questionable value
Review: Big Brain Academy is a collection of repetitive "games" that test your memory and vision. You can choose to test yourself or practice. Either way, the number of game choices is limited -- and unlocking practice games is a pain as you need to play the ...
