Some consider the Bodum the King of Coffee Makers. But is it?

by   knitsnbytes ,  Jul 4, 2007
Pros: Easy to make, reasonable cost, elegant service
Cons: Won't keep coffee hot. Depends on the best coffee, ground perfectly right.
The Bottom Line: If you want elegant after dinner coffee with a European taste and flair, this is it.
Review: Introduction Some people consider the Bodum Chambord Press the "King" of coffee making methods. Now, this claim has been made by many coffee methods, for example: The Santos vacuum pot (a chem lab glass device that vacuums the brewed coffee ...

So long Starbucks.

by   boingster451 ,  Jan 8, 2008
Pros: Easy to use and clean. Makes awesome coffee!
Cons: Will not keep the prepared coffee hot. Pot could be damaged by scratching.
The Bottom Line: Makes a different and more satisfying cup of coffee. Reasonably priced and very easy to use. Clean up is easy. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Review: So you thought that you’d change something in your life today and wanted to improve yourself? Ahh, the only reasonable conclusion of self improvement pointed you in the direction of pressing your own coffee! Well let me tell you a little about ...

Le Cafe Est Vraiment Bon

by   Sunliner ,  Mar 13, 2007
Pros: Really, REALLY good coffee.
Cons: This is no fire-and-forget coffee machine.
The Bottom Line: If you're willing to work a little bit, the end result is epiphany-provoking coffee.
Review: That means, "The Coffee is Really Good" in French. At least, that's what an on-line translator says, and I'll trust it because...the coffee from this French press is really good. Some background would be in order. I've been drinking coffee ...

Bodum Chambord 1928 8-cup coffee maker french press

by   fungusamongus ,  Apr 19, 2007
Pros: It is easy to use.
Cons: It was more expensive.
The Bottom Line: Yes, I recommend this because it is pretty and easy to use.
Review: The metal frame "Chambord 1928" french press by Bodum is the best style that they make. It is elegant looking, easy to use and the size is perfect. I had the black plastic style of Bodum french press before, but it broke by accident and I, being a slave ...

Avoid cheap imitations...Give up bad coffee for good!

by   chiliqueen ,  Mar 17, 2007
Pros: Coffee as it was meant to be tasted!
Cons: Beaker can scratch, filter and plunger must be taken apart for frequent cleaning
The Bottom Line: The perfect gift for the coffee connoisseur in your life.
Review: The French press has been around for decades in Europe, an easy alternative to pricier espresso machines and Italian stovetop Moka pots. Bodum is the foremost name in quality French press pots (styles include the Chambord, Brazil, Kenya, and Eileen), and ...

Great coffee for one and for very little money

by   epitestuser ,  Jul 3, 2007
Pros: small, cheap, stylish, and simple
Cons: makes only one cup at a time. not good for a group of people.
Review: I have one of these. I bought it instead of a more expensive, complicated and over-featured coffee maker because I generally make only one cup at a time. It is a great little press and costs nothing compared to a coffee maker, takes up little room and ...

Impress with a press, impressed with this press.

by   customeright ,  Jan 7, 2007
Pros: Really GREAT coffee, well constructed, easy to clean, inexpensive.
Cons: Very Minor: Plastic inner-lid, no graduated markings.
The Bottom Line: Simple, inexpensive, effective. While not the absolute top of the line, with the right ingredients, you could make the best cup of coffee you've ever made at home!
Review: Caff-fiend. That's the proper term to describe me. I enjoy a good cup of coffee almost as much as, well… it's actually hard to describe it and stay 'PG'. That said, I've been searching for that perfect cup at home for a while now. My search has ...

Simple brew, complex cup

by   Guildencrantz ,  Sep 13, 2006
Pros: Excellent coffee.
Cons: It needs more attention than automatic machines.
The Bottom Line: Few things make The Bottom Line as giddy as watching freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee bloom in his Bodum Chambord.
Review: The French Press, or press pot, is an example of simplicity that works wonders, and the Bodum Chambord is an example of that simplicity well executed. Combined with hot water, quality beans, and a good grinder the ...

A cheap, poorly designed french press

by   surftheasphalt ,  Jan 13, 2007
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poorly designed filter mechanism with sharp, rough edges, flimsy construction of questionable origin
The Bottom Line: I would not spend my money on this inferior, poorly designed product!
Review: I have tried 3 different Bodum presses, and they weren’t worth writing home about. I used and returned their Chambord, Melior, and Bistro Nuevo models. Well, I didn't actually use the Melior; however, when I saw it was essentially a Chambord, I ...
