Death is a Three-Letter Word

by   scmrak , top reviewer in Books at Epinions.com ,  Sep 26, 2008
Pros: powerful narrative of a young man's coming of age amidst the horrors of Vietnam
Cons: pretty darned graphic at times
The Bottom Line: Walter Dean Myers brought the Vietnam era home for another generation in 1988. So why do some people dislike Fallen Angels so much?

Pros: story; characters; writing
Cons: pretty heavy content

Cons: Not for the weak-minded
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this book for the weak minded, because it contains unpleasant examples of what happened in Vietnam. But for everyone else, it is a great book.
Review: The story of Fallen Angels took place during the Vietnam War, where every step a soldier took could be his last. Fallen Angels has great, but nasty examples of what happened during the Vietnam War. The book is about the many sufferings in Vietnam ...
