Pros: Characters, Main and ancillary stories, Short, fluid chapters
Cons: Well, um.......no.
The Bottom Line: When is a hole more than just a hole? Only the bottom line knows......
Review: Long, long ago, in a land far away, I saw a movie called Holes
.
Okay, so it was two years ago and six blocks away and I used the movie to bribe my kid. Its just that the fairy tale beginning ...

Pros: Plot, Writing Style, Suspense, Mystery... EVERYTHING!
Cons: Absolutely None
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for the perfect children's tale, read Holes. I guarantee you'll love it.
Review: Okay...I admit it. When I first starting reading Holes by Louis Sachar two years ago, I got to about the fourth chapter (the chapters are extremely short) and quit. I thought the book was confusing and uninteresting. I mean, who would want to read ...

Fan Letter to Louis Sachar |
|||
|
Pros: Humor, pathos, suspense, mystery, and social commentary in an uplifting tale.
Cons: Unless you detest fantasy children's literature, the only cons here are the convicted kids.
The Bottom Line: Because it concentrates on male characters, Holes may hold more boy than girl appeal, but I guarantee that, boy or girl, you'll not find a dull moment in this book.
Review: When it comes to Holes, by Louis Sachar, I have to restrain myself from sounding like one of those opinions at which we're all inclined to throw stones. Watch, as I fight the urge to say I love this book, I love this book, I love this book, . ....

Pros: thought-provoking, inventive...totally unique, funny
Cons: I don't know one
The Bottom Line: Holes is interestingly written, full of unique characters and is so fun to read!
Review: I enjoyed the book, because of the characters, the plot and the title. The title, "Holes", just fit the way it was written. I'll explain that later, but for now, I'd like to tell you: "Holes" is thought-provoking, inventive, crazy, wacky, sad...TO MAKE...

Pros: good story, compelling contemporary issues
Cons: won't be able to stop reading
Review: Holes, by Louis Sachar, is probably one of the most powerful young adult books I have read in a long time. I literally could not put this book down. It captured my thoughts and senses and made me fight innate curiosity as I read each page. The...

Pros: It has a great storyline, it keeps the reader interested
Cons: It jumps back and forth between past and present, which gets confusing at times.
The Bottom Line: Holes is an excellent book with a great storyline. It will drag the reader deeper and deeper into the story with every word and page.
Review: Holes is a very excellent book. I'm in the age group it was written for, and I think it's a great book, and I even read it to my family (two adults and a 10-year-old), and they loved it also. The second I stopped reading, they begged me to continue....

Pros: This is a great story for any reader, nicely written with many twists and turns.
Cons: Though the story is very well written I believe there could have been more detail.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this story for any reader who loves a good fiction story. This story will get the reader hooked from beginning to end.
Review: From the title your probably think that I am not a fan of the book aptly named Holes but on the cont ...

Pros: A wonderful, humorous, well-written book
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: This is a book for the middle school child, a younger child might not be able to grasp the intricacies and understand how the different stories fit together.
Review: This is a book composed of several stories intertwined together to create one. This sounds strange but I will explain.
Main story. Stanley Yelnats IV (his name is spelled the same forward and backwards)is a lonely boy of 12. He is... |

Pros: Wonderfully written, humorous, yet deep
