And the least shall be greatest...

by   doakley64 ,  Jul 8, 2000
Pros: Excellent book, great plot, ties well with previous books
Cons: Slightly questionable as to the realistic possibility of the plot
Review: Paul Hood finds himself back at Op-Center after withdrawing his resignation as director. Sharon, his wife, has asked for a divorce, and Paul can see no reason not to return, as Sharon was his main reason for quitting in the first place.

Follow Your Teacher's Advice

by   JBduckling ,  Oct 13, 2000
Pros: Clancy's Descriptiveness
Cons: Plot Complicated, at times
Review: About 33 years ago, my Junior High English teacher, Mrs. Anich, gave us all in her seventh grade class, some advice. After approximately 2,000 book reports all on The Man from UNCLE, Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and other routine teen pulp...

Clancy's Idea, Not His Writing!

by   JBduckling ,  Jun 13, 2001
Pros: The Suspenseful ending is worth it!
Cons: Not written by Tom Clancy!
The Bottom Line: The suspenseful endings at the White House and Azerbaijan make this worthwhile, while the Washington plot is, at times, difficult to believe.
Review: Tom Clancy's Op-Center series novels are a continuing saga of a US Government agency, trying to make a name for itself. "Divide and Conquer" is a sequel to the originals but in reading the credits, I was disappointed to find out the "Op-Center" idea was...

Meaty but solid

by   doakley64 ,  Aug 9, 2001
Pros: Solid use of military tactics, excellent knowledge of geography and tactical information
Cons: Too wordy, too much explanation needed for each chapter
The Bottom Line: Solid book, although there are a few weighty parts to be waded through.
Review: The open sore constantly being chafed by India and Pakistan is about to erupt into a major wound.

Op-Center's top-notch action group, Striker, is once again in action. They are working with India's government to track down suspected Pakistani...

A Little Bit of Brain Food

by   jl1978 ,  Jan 19, 2002
Pros: Interesting plot.
Cons: Too many names. Too many details.
The Bottom Line: If you like watching the West Wing, then you might find this book easy to follow.
Review: Okay, so what I've heard is that Tom Clancy doesn't actually write the Op-Center books. (And yes, there is more than one Op-Center book. This review is actually about the first book in a series about Op-Center. More on that later.)

Sure, it's...

Do you have time to kill? This is a good way to do it.

by   aashtech ,  Jul 28, 2000
Pros: Quick and easy to read
Cons: Forgettable
Review: Tom Clancy has written some terrific books, many of which you will know from the films. Titles like The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger demonstrate his grasp of the technology and tools of...
