Literary in Scope

by   galadari0110 ,  Aug 25, 2002
Pros: Excellent story and art.
Cons: British politics
The Bottom Line: Written with fervor, this masterpeiece is the most thought provoking graphic novel ever scripted and drawn. Highly recommended.
Review: Comic books have always lagged behind when it came to be taken seriously by the literary medium. People just thought that comics were set to target preadolscent boys. That notion,of course, is wrong. Most people who buy their comics from specialty...

This Vicious Cabaret

by   milhaven ,  Jan 11, 2006
Pros: One of those great "what if" stories.
Cons: A lot of Shakespeare mingled in.
The Bottom Line: Read it. Read it now.
Review: I used to think Alan Moore was an illustrator; back when I was first into comics, I wasn't really paying attention to who did what. I used to notice, however, that his name popped up here and there, and the style of illustration didn't seem to change ...

V for Veritas

by   Neuropean ,  Sep 24, 2000
Pros: World-class writing, deep meaning and very entertaining adventure and action
Cons: Graphics might be difficult at first, might discourage some readers
Review: Alan Moore's V for Vendetta is an important book. The fact that it's a graphic novel might somehow diminish its importance in the eyes of those who consider images as useful to help a child learn and therefore see "Comics" as a lesser art. But...

Written with a vengence

by   shaunb ,  Jul 10, 2000
Pros: Great story / fantastic art work
Cons: none
Review: "V" is one of Alan Moore's earlier books and may have a flaw or two, but on the whole this is on superbly written book. Mr. Moore does incredible job of bringing characters to life while weaving a plot which will make the reader's head...

Inspirational

by   nescient ,  Jan 22, 2004
Pros: The most amazing graphic novel I have read
Cons: It separates in consistency in the middle
Review: Its a mirror, you'll find what you want in it. You might hate it (if your a religious person with a stick in your...), not get it or not care if you either don’t understand it because you cant relate, or this is like high school philosophy to you. ...

V for Vendetta, by Alan Moore & David Lloyd

by   cdm72 ,  Apr 19, 2006
Pros: Plot, Moore's dialogue.
Cons: Supporting characters all seemed too similar to tell them apart, bland colors.
The Bottom Line: Not as good as WATCHMEN, but really what is?
Review: I should have learned my lesson by now. Every time I read Alan Moore's work, it makes me want to go back to everything I've ever written and burn it. The latest of his "You'll Never Be This Good" books is the comic book graphic novel V FOR VENDETTA ...

V for Valiant effort

by   night_vision ,  Nov 21, 2002
Pros: Facinating to those who know Moore, a great story.
Cons: Flaws of an early writer, not for the new reader.
The Bottom Line: It's good, but it's not Great. Well worth a read in every sense but better as a look back than a starting point.
Review: This is one of those frequent times that my opinion of this book is influenced by my perspective of it. For the uninitiated I’m going to give a brief summary of these factors – and if you know anything about comics this is probably a section you...
