What DO Tahitians look like?

Pros: Stunning visuals, excellent acting, blue skies, palm-tree beaches, garlands of flowers, creaking old boat
Cons: Tahitians less than Polynesian; what happens to these mutineers? Chop-chop Happy End?
The Bottom Line: Take an evening to float away to an island paradise (especially for men), but be forewarned that the trip is a rough one!
Review: WAS THIS FILMED IN TAHITI? No, in New Zealand and Polynesia by a British crew. However, close enough for island paradise fantasies, right? The 1962 Marlon Brando version was done in Tahiti, resulting in Brando's purchase of an island and marriage to ...

Anthony Hopkins, Mel Gibson, and the Most Famous Mutiny in History |

|
Pros: Hopkins and Gibson, 20 years ago...fine scenery (tropical and human), great story
Cons: I have no discipline...I'd be flogged again and again on The Bounty
The Bottom Line: If you think this movie is about paper towels, you've got a problem.
Review: When you think of the British Empire of the 17th-19th Century, you invariably think of their navy. Respected and feared throughout the world, the ships of the royal navy were prominent in every ocean, as explorers, traders, and conquerors. Being the...

|
Pros: Wardrobes
Cons: Limited camera angles on the "Bounty," bland performances, no action or adventure.
The Bottom Line: There are other adaptations of other books that are much better than this one.
Review: This is an adaptation of "Captain Bligh and Mr. Christian" by Richard Hough. It is an adaptation that made me not want to read the novel of which it is based. The movie is filled with little action and pretty weak performances from much of the main ...
