Pros: Slow and beautiful story about the modernization of an elite school, loyalty, betrayal, lust
Cons: American science professor was a profoundly shallow type - perhaps intentional?
The Bottom Line: Anyone concerned with our civilization's decline will find this interesting. Albert Finney as a classic professor, fired without a pension, betrayed by his wife, is a sad face indeed.
