Pros: Characters, writing, story arcs, Spike
Cons: a few lame stories... not many
The Bottom Line: In my opinion, this is the best of the Buffy series.
Review: This year, I have had the immense pleasure of bringing a Sunnydale Virgin deep into the depths of the Hellmouth (two more and I get a toaster!). My boyfriend and I have spent many a night watching the Buffy DVDsÂ… me for the umpteenth time, he for the ...

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Five |
|||||||||
|
Pros: Incredible storytelling, very few stinky Episodes, extremely true-to-life.
Cons: Can be extremely depressing!
The Bottom Line: There just aren't enough words in the English language to do justice to Buffy Season Five.
Review: It seems that in many old-school video games, Level 5 was a popular level in which to put the snow and the ice. One might say that Buffy follows a similar pattern. Season Five is almost indisputably the darkest Season of the bunch, with Season ...

The Coming of Dawn

Pros: The most emotionally affecting season of Buffy.
Cons: Buffy's dark period begins. Don't look for frivolity.
The Bottom Line: Arguably, Buffy's most powerful season as the Slayer learns to deal with personal losses and gains. And the mythic potential of the show reached its apex here.
Review: It feels like a culmination of all of Buffys adventures. As if everything she has fought for has all come down to this. Buffy Season Five seems to be the final statement on her journey. After suffering devastation amidst geographical and ...

Pros: Some excellent shows such as the crossover and many tear jerking moments.
Cons: The whole key thing was a bit fuzzy on the details.
The Bottom Line: Any fan will totally enjoy this season because it's a great year with genius storytelling.
Review: The season starts off with Dracula who has searched the world for Buffy and a little sister pops up named Dawn that remains a mystery for a while. One of the saddest episodes is The Body where Joyce dies from actual natural causes which is such a rarity ...

Pros: The writting was back to Buffy standards. Also, bye bye Riley
Cons: "Buffy vs. Dracula"-why?
The Bottom Line: Exellent season and yes, I would recommend it.
Review: There aren't too many shows that can introduce a major character five seasons after it started and pull it off successfully. Michelle Trachtenberg was introduced as Dawn this season. Dawn was a piece of energy made by some monks and given to Buffy to ...

Pros: Some of the all-time best episodes ever
Cons: Weak first episode, major plot point takes a long time to get explained
The Bottom Line: If you can get past a few headscratchers early on, some of the best episodes of the series make it worth the price of admission
Review: Okay, there are two things you've got to past first to enjoy the fifth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The first is a subpar opening episode, Buffy vs. Dracula. The prince of darkness himself has come to Sunnydale, and it's a complete ...

Pros: Great television, perfect to watch over and over again.
Cons: You will probably need lots of tissue when you watch it.
The Bottom Line: This is the fifth season of the show and is still really good tv. Fans and non-fans should really buy this DVD. It isn't the last series we see.
Review: In it's fifth series many people thought the show would become somewhat fruitless. Boy were they wrong. In it's fifth year we see Buffy developing into a more reliable figure. Dealing with life, love and lost isn't easy at best but add fighting ...

Buffy suffers some brutal losses, but keeps Slaying me in Season Five |
|||||||||
|
Pros: Some deeper, more adult issues, Spike gains some depth, Xander grows up...
Cons: Has the Scooby Gang grown too big? Not entirely sold on Dawn or Glory...
The Bottom Line: Any show that has vampires shagging with robots is fine by me.
Review: Warning--there will be some spoilers in this review. I'll try to keep them under control. Nine months ago, I first met Buffy Summers, AKA the Vampire Slayer. She lives in Sunnydale, California, and has a bunch of buddies that helps her Slay the bad ...

Pros: Tons of character development, especially from the supporting characters
Cons: Very dark and sad at times, not as bubbly and funny as previous seasons
The Bottom Line: As a whole, this season is great. Individually, there should have been more stronger episodes.
Review: The fifth season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer somewhat disappointed me compared to the first four seasons. What got me was this seasonÂ’s main villain. The villain character was good, but the way the actress portrayed her was too much over the top. ...

Pros: Stories, Camp Value, Acting, Character, Serialization of Plots
Cons: Some Character Ignorance, Weird Rewriting of the Series
The Bottom Line: A nice escape from reality, this season of "Buffy" finds the heroes combating a mortal enemy it cannot hope to defeat, while still clinging to its fun, campy roots.
Review: The first four seasons of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" establish the Buffyverse (as it is called by fans - The Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe, which now comprises the fictional places and events encapsulated in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," ...
