Hot Dog!!!

by   glennhanna ,  May 14, 2001
Pros: Awesome quality. No power cable. Slim. Z-Lid. Easy to use. Reliable.
Cons: Not Blazing Fast. No Slide Scanning. May be too good/$$$ for the average consumer.
The Bottom Line: If you have the money to spend, then go for it. You won't be SORRY with this investment, which is the most important thing when buying anything.
Review: You can’t go wrong with this scanner! My new scanner just blows my old scanner out of the water. The term, “you get what you pay for” couldn’t hold truer. My old scanner cost $30, and it was a bulky dinosaur that took forever to scan a document. The...

Compact CanoScan1220

by   stampinmaven ,  Oct 29, 2002
Pros: Small footprint
Cons: Still none after 7yrs
The Bottom Line: If you need a lightweight scanner that will not take up half your desk and one cable (USB) then this scanner is a winner.
Review: UPDATE- 10 Dec 07 - Just hooked up the old CanoScan to the new Acer Laptop with Vista home basic. I had to manually extract the drivers (Vista kept giving me errors about needing some device overwrite permission), pointed the program file where to look ...

Curvaceous. Slim-Fast. Scanner. Canon 1220U.

by   flak-attak ,  Aug 3, 2001
Pros: Space Saving Design, Fast, Easy to Use.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: This scanner was designed to be both attractive and very functional -- which is unusual for a scanner.
Review: Like a 16-year old boy, I wondered if Mrs. Right would ever
come along. Sort of. Not really caring Who but kind of
looking them all over.....

It's more than meets the eye...

by   Rizar ,  Jan 1, 2001
Pros: compact, quality scans, easy to use
Cons: Only USB compatible, a bit pricey at $199.99
Review: You say you're looking for a "decent" scanner. Well, you're barking up the wrong tree because this thing is FANTASTIC.

Nowadays, scanners can be had for under $50 bucks. Pretty amazing, but you get what you pay for. The cost of the...

A TRULY FAULTLESS PURCHASE!

by   Off-the-Bench ,  May 19, 2001
Pros: Takes up little space, high-quality scans, great software!
Cons: Haven't found one yet!
The Bottom Line: This scanner scans at 1,200 dpi, is easy to use, takes up little space, and is easy to setup. Better yet, it comes with a great software package!
Review: A solution to our problem:
I work for my college newspaper and handle most of our purchases. One of our best purchases was this CanoScan N1220U. The first reason I chose this product was that our office was messy. As a matter of fact, our...

The Canon CanoScan 1220 U

by   alfredo1107 ,  Apr 29, 2002
Pros: Huge resolution, amazing quality, no power cord
Cons: Windows 98 might get confused if you have more imaging devices
The Bottom Line: In conclusion, this is a great scanner.
Review: I had been on the market for a scanner for some time now. I don't have a lot of desk space so I was considering one of those 'mini' photo scanners with a 300 dpi resolution. Then last week I walked into Fry's electronics to find this beautiful CanoScan....

An outstanding scanner

by   flgator96 ,  Nov 7, 2002
Pros: Excellent color reproduction, high image quality
Cons: Won't accommodate legal paper for copying
The Bottom Line: A great scanner true to the colors of your photos!
Review: We purchased this scanner after being tired of the poor accuracy of color reproduction of an older non-name brand model. We frequently scan in photos of our daughter and print them on photo paper for relatives, and of course we wanted our little girl to...

Great little scanner, although somewhat slow

by   dgprocess ,  Apr 17, 2003
Pros: small and lightweight. Excellent picture quality. Multi-function button is very useful.
Cons: Slow scan speed for high quality imaging.
The Bottom Line: Great little scanner, if you don't need blazing speed.
Review: I've had this scanner for 3 years now, and have been very pleased with it. The image quality is excellent. I like how small and light the scanner is- it takes up no space on my desk (you can even store it sideways). I've used it for web publishing,...

Great scanner

by   pikakid4 ,  Aug 25, 2001
Pros: Great scanning of all things. High resolution
Cons: Minor scanning imperfections
The Bottom Line: For home users looking for great scanner with high resolution.
Review: This scanner is so compact. Most of the books I have are bigger than the scanner. Z-lid expansion helps scan bulky items such as big books and other irregular shape items. It is high resolution (1200 dpi) with 42 bit. It is also USB powered, so there...

If you want a scanner, Read this first.

by   bronco75 ,  Dec 27, 2000
Pros: Slim, cool looking, fast
Cons: Nothing
Review: I actually got this scanner for Christmas this year. I wanted this model because of several things. Size, Scan Resolution, USB and least importantly it just plain looks cool.

It is only about 1" tall, 14" Deep and 10" Wide. You...
