Pros: Low price, high scan speed and quality, bundled software, compact size, no power cable
Cons: Requires powered USB hub (at least on some computers), no film scanning
The Bottom Line: The Canon LiDE 20 is compact, nice-looking, does not require a separate power supply or cable and scans well and fast.

LiDE 20 is a slim (just 1.4") and inexpensive USB 2.0 scanner. I got it a couple years ago and it is still going strong. It looks nice and does not require separate power cable. The power is provided ...

Pros: Small size, style, vertical stand, no external power supply
Cons: Can be a bit slow because of the USB 1.1 interface
The Bottom Line: You can no longer use a lack of desk space as an excuse not to buy a scanner. Compact and a dream to use.
Review: I bought this scanner about a month ago, after growing tired of the poor image quality of my old HP Photosmart 1000 scanner. I'll be honest - I let my ego guide me on this purchase decision.... it looks so sleek and sexy in the store, at only 1.3" ...

Pros: incredible price, ease of use
Cons: None
Review: I recently purchased this scanner for under $50.00 New and it seems like a very good purchase. To start with it's slim design, just 1.4" in thickness makes this the slimmest on the market. Power comes from the one usb cable which makes it a breeze. Then ...

Pros: A complete package at a budget-friendly price.
Cons: Not the highest resolution and not the fastest of the Canon flatbed scanners
The Bottom Line: For once being a cheapskate paid off, the Canon Lide20 really offers an ubeatable price/performance ratio.
Review: Introduction One evening starting up the machines I almost immediately noticed something was amiss. I couldn't quite lay my finger on it until it dawned : the familiar green light blinking on the scanner wasn't there. I checked the current ...

Pros: Perfect for documents, good for pictures, small size, portable, cheap.
Cons: Slow, resolution rather low.
The Bottom Line: Terrific small scanner that scans documents at high quality, pictures at good quality, and it comes with a nice software bundleall at a great price.
Review: As I searched through the clutter on my desk, trying to find an important document that I just knew was in one of the piles, I suddenly realized how I could solve my paper clutter problemwith a scanner. Instead of keeping all of my forms and ...

Pros: Compact. Good scan quality. Sufficient speed and resolution for all practical purposes.
Cons: Software defect in auto-rotation, lighting geometry.
The Bottom Line: If you want a compact desktop scanner for personal use, you won't go wrong with this one.
Review: I bought this scanner to replace an older parallel port model. I like that it's very compact, and requires only a single USB connection for both power and data. You can even stand it on its side with the help of a little plastic stand that's included ...

Pros: inexpensive, easy to setup, macintosh os x panther compatible
Cons: noisy
Review: Just received this scanner today. It was $47.00 from amazon.com. I did not install the software from the included CD-ROM. Instead I went to Canon's web site and downloaded the latest code. There were two parts to the download: 1. The scanner ...

Pros: This scanner is compatible with Linux. It "just works" through SANE, no special drivers needed.
Cons: It's only 600x600 though quality is as good as many with higher resolution. USB powered.
Review: I got this scanner because it was compatible with Linux. I had previously bought an Epson photosmart but it was faulty. I tried a Packard Bell and although it worked OK, the colours were rather artificial looking in Linux. This model gives as good in ...
