Pros: Many features & capabilities; novice to professional; handsome & solidly built; good value.
Cons: No swivel LCD; battery life could be better; inconvenient tripod mount & interface door locations.
The Bottom Line: From novice to professional every camera enthusiast will appreciate this camera. Solidly built, handsome appearance and endless features make this point and shoot camera fun to use and master.
Review: I am not a professional photographer but I have owned several digital cameras, including the Canon G2, G4 and G6. My review here of the latest G9 is based on personal use and a comparison to previous G series cameras. My comments will be general in ...

Pros: 12MP, built in "photo lab" 3" lcd, long lasting battery
Cons: a little heavy, lcd could have been adjustable
The Bottom Line: This camera is perfect for beginners and professionals. it is another reason why i am switching everything to canon, a company that knows photography!
Review: the powershot g9 is the new flagship of canon's midrange digital cameras and it does deliver! First I must add that for those of you who think this camera looks familar, yes... it is based on the powershot g7 design and is in fact an update to the g7. ...

Pros: Control for the Photography enthusiast
Great build quality
Familiar Settings for Canon prolevel sDSLR users
Cons: It might be a little large if you need a shirt pocket camera
The Bottom Line: Can't go wrong. Packs everything an enthusiast could want into a beautifully designed package. It feels great in your hands. Every PRO should have one too.
Review: I just received this camera last week and already it is a good friend. This camera will especially appeal to photographers who are already using prosumer or pro level Canon D-SLR users or are just interested in the highest level of creative control from ...

Pros: Full metal casing. Full set of manual controls. RAW. Great for professionals and consumers alike.
Cons: Steep initial cost. May make you want to eventually upgrade to a real SLR camera!
The Bottom Line: The G9 meets a unique middle-ground where professionals can get the quality they need and consumers can get the quality they're not used to having in a compact camera.
Review: Photography is one of my few serious hobbies. Late last year, I bought myself the newest Semi-Professional SLR Canon had to offer -- the EOS 40D. The 40D has traveled almost everywhere with me around the city since then, but it felt like a couple things ...

Pros: Great image quality
Supports Raw and Manual Control
Cons: Bulky, barely fits in pocket
ISO performance isn't so great past 800.
The Bottom Line: If you want the best point and shoot camera, buy the G9.
Review: Let me start off by saying that this is just about the best point and shoot camera available right now. This is also the camera that professional photographers use as their pocket, go everywhere camera. The main reason why this camera is so popular with ...

The Canon G9 is the best compact digital camera available, but not quite perfect. |
|||
|
Pros: Durable construction, great feature set, good controls, sharp lens across the zoom range.
Cons: Slightly above average noise at all ISO settings, somewhat expensive.
The Bottom Line: I can recommend the Canon G9 for its rugged build, sharp lens, and good controls. Image noise, handling, and price are all just a little less than desirable.
Review: Introduction My Canon A620 digital camera has been a faithful backup camera for over a year now. It does pretty much everything I ask of it and it's made me a big fan of Canon's A-series cameras. The next step up from this series of camera is ...

Review: I have been a Canon PowerShot enthusiast for years now. Started from S100, went through S200, S320, S400, SD200, SD550, and my favorite SD700 which I left in India during one of my trips. Anyways, after SD700 I started looking at G-series and ...

Pros: Good size, Shoot in RAW, Canon quality, Canon Accesories
Cons: A little awkward in the pocket. No ergonomic grip. Mild Fringing

Pros: Easy picture review.
Memory cards cheap. Battery is rechargeable, and lasts. Cons: This camera does not take great pictures. They are average at best.
The Bottom Line:
For the price, you are better off spending a little more on a true SLR, or a lot less on a point and shoot. Review: I purchased the Canon G9 2.5 months ago, I have taken pictures on multiple settings and it is an inferior product that takes average pictures. I had a Canon PowerShot S70 for about 5 years until I broke it. It would have cost $145 to fix so i ...
