Broken Auto Focus - Watch Out

by   pikesan ,  Sep 24, 2008
Pros: Worked great until the autofocus produced pictures that were 75% black.
Cons: Cost $200 to repair a camera that's now only worth about $250.
Review: My camera is broken and this well known design problem will not be repaired for free by Canon. Search for "Canon EOS 300d sub mirror repair" in google to find all the documentation. There are several websites that show how to repair the problem yet ...

Most reliable camera I have ever owned

by   iloveginger ,  Feb 16, 2008
Pros: Refresh Speed, Adaptabilty, Battery Life
Cons: Internal Memory, Zoom restrictions
The Bottom Line: Buy this camera or any in the Rebel family as you will not be dissatisfied.
Review: I bought my Digital Rebel about a year and a half ago. I have gone through about 3 different digital cameras in the past few years and was never really please with their performance. I need a digital camera for work because I am taking about 100 to 200 ...

WOW!! What an amazing camera

by   blueskydestine ,  Dec 28, 2007
Pros: It's a Canon - solid built with more features than you will ever use
Cons: The fact that it still uses a mechanical shutter with a limited life.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a high quality, easy to use digital camera - this is probably one of your best choices
Review: I'd been out of photography for some time and was aching to get back into it. But there was the cost of film developing, etc. and the lack of quality in most digital cameras. Then I heard about the Canon 30D and found one at a reasonable price. What ...

Canon Rebel a fine starter camera, with a Professional Edge

by   dabuji ,  Sep 26, 2007
Pros: exceptional resolution, great detail, very good starter kit. Professional results, outstanding images for reproduction.
Cons: The camera's 18-55mm lens does not give you sufficient amount of zoom
The Bottom Line: Excellent camera under $999.99 Professional quality offering vast amount of features. Can use with facility and grow with experience.
Review: I have always used 35mm cameras and wanted to switch over to digital. I need a camera of very good quality. I am an artist and photograph many subjects in great detail. I needed a camera that would give me the accuracy of color, exposure, and ...

Great Camera For the Short Term

by   asocalfamily ,  Jun 27, 2007
Pros: Easy to use. Looks and feels like a real SLR
Cons: Malfunctioned after only 3 years of regular normal use. Very heavy compared to new cameras.
Review: I bought mine about 3 years ago and have absolutely loved it until recently. Great entry level SLR digital camera. It came with a lens. It's simple to use and has several different picture taking mode. The download software is also outstanding. ...

Look Around Before You Buy

by   thetruthful ,  Jun 3, 2007
Pros: Easy to use after reading the manual.
Cons: Flash recharge is slow - Pics are lacking in sharpness sometimes.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this to beginning SLR Digital users, but LOOK AROUND at all makes first.
Review: I have owned my Canon Digital Rebel 300 D camera for over two years and while I am happy with the results, I must offer a tip to anyone seriously looking to enter the SLR Digital market. Look around! I have three digital SLR's at this point, with my ...

Canon Should be Ashamed

by   nmclay ,  Apr 8, 2007
Pros: Incredible image quality, ease of use, price for performance delivered.
Cons: Err99 and non-existant customer service. NEVER AGAIN.
Review: I am a lifelong Canon user who spent the big bucks for a new Canon Rebel XT digital. I have had numerous failures with the now infamous error 99. Canon was NO help and refused to do anything about it and the camera store told me to not use non-canon ...

I love this camera!

by   ethnosax ,  Mar 19, 2007
Pros: Easy to use; great quality shots; expandable with other lenses
Cons: None at all for me.
The Bottom Line: If you have SLR experience, this camera will only take a little bit to learn; if this is your first SLR, you'll soon love it!
Review: I'm not good enough at photography to be a snob, but nevertheless, for the first many years of digital photography, I stuck snobbishly by my 35mm camera, even using only low-speed slide film. My friends around me thought I was nuts as they took zillions ...

All I can say is "wow"

by   ag4hq ,  Mar 18, 2007
Pros: OUTSTANDING, Sports Illustrated quality photos.
Cons: Not as portable as the smaller point and shoot cameras.
Review: I will not waste a lot of bandwidth since this camera has already been reviewed 86 times, but I do want to say this is one awesome camera. I bought this for my wife, who is an amateur photographer, but loves taking pictures. She and I both have used this ...

Best value for advance features but ease of use

by   nds1982 ,  Dec 8, 2006
Pros: Affordable, quality, long battery life, ease of use.
Cons: have to buy a wide angle lens immediately.
The Bottom Line: This is the best camera you can buy for the least amount of money.
Review: This is about as much camera as you can get for a minimal price. Number one feature is a fast shutter speed with the SLR, but easy to handle digital pictures. Up loading is fast, you can delete pics that didn't turn out without up loading or printing ...
