Great grill for the price

by   clumsy_ox ,  Dec 6, 2006
Pros: Great price, good feature set, lots of room
Cons: Flimsy construction, lack of after market parts
The Bottom Line: If you want an entry-level grill on a tight budget, you can't find more bang for your buck.
Review: For the price, this is one of the best grills you can buy. It is feature-rich, decent-sized, and well-designed. I bought a Santa Fe as a trial grill after my gas grill died. The idea was to cook on a lower-priced grill for a year to decide whether I ...

Solid BBQ

by   paljimmy ,  Apr 10, 2007
Pros: Great cooking volume!!!
Cons: Coals need to have a higher setting.
The Bottom Line: Great grill for those who love to create their own cooking experience. There is some room for improvement, but also for adding your personal touches! I love it!
Review: This grill is a great project for a weekend, but make sure that you have two people for the job. Also, instead of the two adjustable wrenches the instructions call for, use a vice grip and a ratchet tool. It will cut your construction time in half-at ...

Entry level large grill

by   okierich ,  Jan 22, 2008
Pros: grill area, capacity under the hood which is excellent for the price.
Cons: quality: on the flimsy side. lid, door fit. Needs additional heat adjustment levels.
Review: I bought after deciding to go back to all charcoal cooking; replaced a high $ propane that burned the rubber hose on a fresh tank. Whoosh! (My fault for leaving it untended.) Material quality is what you could expect for the price. Assembly IS a two ...

Don't waste your money

by   tongyun ,  Jul 11, 2008
Pros: I really can't think of any.
Cons: Lightweight metal construction. Very flimsy.
The Bottom Line: If you want a smoker, spend a little more and you'll be happy. If you want a grill, there are better made grills on the market.
Review: This was my first large size grill that I had ever purchased (I now own seven grills - two of which are for smoking). I was initially sold on the fact that it can be used as a grill and a smoker. However, after using it to smoke some meat, I've moved ...

What a Piece of Junk

by   oat-willie ,  Dec 28, 2006
Pros: The metal may be recycled.
Cons: too many to list, don't make the mistake I did.
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your time and money on this low budget item, it's not worth it at any price.
Review: I bought a Char-Broil Santa Fe at Home Depot to replace my aged 860 grill. That was a bad idea as it turns out. The Santa Fe construction is cheap and flimsy. The thing leaks air at every possible place and the front door for fire access doesn't seal ...

Don't waste your money on this one!

by   kellysideas ,  Jun 20, 2008
Pros: It's big and has a thermometer
Cons: very cheap and flimsy, doesn't maintain heat
The Bottom Line: Don't buy. There are much better choices out there. This one will not last one season.
Review: I'll try to start with the positives. . . hmmm. I'm having trouble. I'll go straight to the negative. I knew we were in trouble when we were putting the thing together. There we so many things that did not go together properly and just didn't line up ...
