Equinox: Class, Performance, and Value

by   ucdavisboy ,  Apr 16, 2004
Pros: It does everything so well that it makes the entire ownership experience great
Cons: Again, the steering, just a little too soft. Needs a telescoping wheel.
The Bottom Line: Best Value in Class. Just a classy SUV with alot to offer
Review: The Equinox is a once every decade type vehicle-the type that is incredibly well designed, exceptionally well priced and yet likely to be largely ignored due to its placement in a crowded market and the fact that it wears a Bow Tie. This is unfortunate, ...

Luxurious Chevy

by   neal396 ,  Dec 26, 2006
Pros: Smooth ride, strong engine, and good looking
Cons: Blind spots
The Bottom Line: I would buy this SUV again. No major problems with this SUV. I enjoy driving and even recieved compliments about it.
Review: I purchased my 05 Equinox brand new in October 2004. I purchased it because it was a appealing Chevrolet. I currently have 116,000 miles on it. I love it. The NOX has a smooth ride, even over railroad tracks. It has good power with the 3.4 V6 at 185 ...

Great North American car!

by   tesimpson ,  Nov 25, 2006
Pros: Good MPG, ample power, nice layout, plenty of storage
Cons: Road noise, rear seats don't go totally flat
The Bottom Line: Great SUV for the money
Review: Another reviewer talked about the Equinox being a great USA car - it's actually built in Canada. That said, I've driven mine (brand new) since December 2004, and put about 9500 miles on it. The mileage is great for an SUV (I get 20-22mpg), the ride is ...

Love it!

by   TLCREDD ,  Oct 26, 2005
Pros: Good price point; nice to have an SUV that is a little smaller size.
Cons: My biggest peeve is how loud the fan is when you turn it up.
The Bottom Line: I have been thrilled with this purchase. I absolutely love almost everything about it. I would definitely buy one again.
Review: There is so much to love about my Equinox! Where do I begin? I got mine about 6 months ago. I was really interested in getting out of my car, and back into an SUV. I really like being elevated when I'm driving. I spent quite a bit of time ...

by   dsblev ,  Dec 25, 2004

The best car we ever owned!

by   josephandteri ,  Jul 29, 2005
Pros: Automatic transmission, very spacious
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.....and have had the car for 6 months
Review: Unfortunately due to an accident that totaled our almost paid off SUV, I suddenly had to purchase another vehicle. Since living in Germany, there wasn't a whole lot of choices for me. My husband and I had been looking at the Chevy Equinox for a few ...

Car Like SUV at an affordable price.

by   nuts4me2 ,  Mar 13, 2005
Pros: Handsome styling, great value, roomy, drives like a car
Cons: Fuel ecoonomy could be better, Not really an off road vehicle
Review: If your looking for a big giant SUV that you can take off road the Equinox isn't for you. Since most people almost never take their SUV off road and do alot of highway driving the Equinox is more than adaquate. If you want an affordable car alternative ...

I love my 2005 Chevy Equinox

by   mcarrington ,  Sep 13, 2005
Pros: Smooth ride, beautifully designed, ton of room, great stereo system, etc.
Cons: blind spot is a little difficult to view
Review: I love it. Out of the blue, I decided to purchase a new car. I couldn't take my old Jeep anymore, it was falling apart and instead of getting a new trans and engine, I bought the Equinox. I shopped around a bit, and went to see a ton of cars. The ...

by   crystalclear21 ,  Feb 9, 2005
Pros: very roomy, awd comes in very handy, stylish look, easy to maneuver in tight spots
Cons: interior light, sound system could be better
Review: I car shopped for a long time before purchasing and just wanted to share the news. I love the interior room. Exactly what I wanted without feeling like I was driving a bus. I love the look and access to all controls. I am disappointed in the interior ...

Nine years late, worth the wait?

by   mkaresh , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Mar 24, 2004
Pros: Exterior styling, rear seat room, ride comfort
Cons: Torque steer (FWD), numb steering, interior materials, price in absence of rebates
The Bottom Line: Great looks and a smooth ride, but middling interior materials and not much fun to drive.
Review: When the party is a hot new vehicle market segment, being late is never fashionable. Rather, the manufacturers who arrive earliest enjoy healthy profit margins and establish images as the class leaders. In the compact car-based SUV segment, among the ...
