2005 Chevy Suburban

by   msono ,  Apr 6, 2005
Pros: Very large and spacious for long trips or just the local short ones.
Cons: Gas mileage and too long for some parking stalls.
The Bottom Line: My favorite vehicle to date. Excellent for road trips and poor on gas mileage.
Review: You don't go out and buy a new suburban for the great gas mileage. In fact the gas mileage is horrible. Mine gets a solid 17.5 and it is pretty consistent around town and on the freeways. We were fairly comfortable with the gas prices until the ...

Lots of kids, lots of stuff, now lots of room for them all!

by   moon5leg ,  May 12, 2005
Pros: Room for nine, cargo space behind 3rd row, lots of power
Cons: Gas mileage (obviously!), size can make it difficult to park; styling a bit outdated
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this vehicle for anyone with more than 3 kids that likes to travel. Great road tripper!
Review: After much thought, and many test drives, my wife and I opted for a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban LS 4wd. We decided on getting the nine passenger version, and that was a good idea. We've got 4 kids already and a fifth on the way. A minivan simply does ...

2005 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500

by   dorkvan ,  May 11, 2009
Pros: Great dependable car. Great for a large family.
Cons: Radio button is a bit worn-great car though
The Bottom Line: Dependable car in all weather. Problem free. Comfortable and great for a large family. The back seat comes out and can load a ton of stuff.
Review: This big house as some would say has been a great vehicle for our family of eight. It is great for loading up all of our luggage for long and short trips. We use the roof rack on long trips. The front passenger side is great for long legs. That is a plus ...

Grand Daddy of Modern SUV

by   opinionmatters ,  Jul 6, 2005
Pros: Plenty of room for nine adults, ample cargo space, very quite, and stylish.
Cons: SUV has acceptable gas mileage for this size; difficulty parking in tight spaces though.
The Bottom Line: This vehicle can haul passengers and cargo alike without difficulty and fan fare.
Review: History: This vehicle is a legend! Originally built in the late 30’s, this vehicle withstood the test of time in terms of design and functionality. This truck is the Grand Daddy of all known modern SUV today. Driving Experience/Comfort: What ...

Lots of space, lots of power, great on or off road, it's just that....

by   tockman ,  Jan 22, 2006
Pros: Great power, space and creature comforts. Luxury is available in a truck-like SUV.
Cons: Groans, whines, hisses in all the wrong places. Cheap-acting, chip-prone finish on knobs and dials.
The Bottom Line: It is a very good vehicle with a lasting appeal that suits the right person. GM needs to fix items likely to reduce and cheapen their image in the marketplace.
Review: As a traveling salesperson who spends a significant amount of time in the car, having a comfortable vehicle is always important in deciding which one to buy. Since miles rack up quickly, we haven't historically gone into traditional luxury class ...

2005 Tahoe Z71

by   hd4me ,  Dec 24, 2007
Pros: Onstar, engine, comfort and style.
Cons: cheapness of interior design, interior noise, rear window wiper, and useless fog lights.
The Bottom Line: Recommended for it's comfort and driveability.
Review: I've now owned my tahoe for 9 months. Over all, I've formed a positive opinion of this vehicle. Coming from owning a 2004 V-8 4Runner, I've noticed all the cabin noise associated with poor fitting, cheap interior panels and moldings. And although the ...

This Big Block could tow my house!

by   shenandoah75 ,  Oct 31, 2005
Pros: Towing / hauling / Passenger Capabilitiies
Cons: GM Quality (lack thereof), vehicle/option selection on lots
The Bottom Line: Design / Engineering wise - this is a great product that meets a very specific need and is not for most people. Quality is where GM just hasn't gotten it.
Review: Some starting info: This review is for an LS K2500 (4x4 3/4 ton), not 1500 I should also start by noting that i traded in a 2003 2500 because of all the problems it had - i would recommend reading it as well if quality is an important factor in ...

Poor Quality

by   rickbarrera ,  Feb 21, 2006
Pros: 3 rows of seats
Cons: Gas Guzzler
Review: My wife's Suburban just blew an engine at 60,000 miles costing over $5000 to replace. Chevrolet was unwilling to help in any way even though I have have been a lifetime loyal customer and spent over $100,000 on GM vehicles in the past 6 months! Buy a ...
