Surprisingly smooth and quiet

by   basiliskst ,  Oct 7, 2005
Pros: Truly great variable valve timing, multi-point fuel injection engine and fun styling inside and out.
Cons: Styling compromises visibility, sub par cup holders, no stability control, no disc brakes in back.
The Bottom Line: Strong buy recommendation. The HHR is a winning combination of style, efficiency and value.
Review: The Chevy HHR LT2 with the new 2.4 liter Ecotech variable valve timing engine is surprisingly smooth and quiet for a four cylinder small car. Essentially the wagon version of the Cobalt, the HHR benefits from a proven and popular platform, but adds fun ...

Style, sass and great on gas

by   thebirdguy ,  Oct 18, 2005
Pros: Nifty styling. Good gas mileage. Plenty of pep. Great fit and finish.
Cons: Hate the window switch position. Selling at full sticker.
The Bottom Line: A very good value, even at full sticker. Avoid the 2.2 liter. The 2.4 liter is the only way to fly. This little bruiser outshines the competition.
Review: My HHR (2LT package - 2.4 liter, sport suspension, automatic, 17-inch wheels & tires) is surprisingly gutsy for an in-line four. I'm delighted with the performance from the 172 HP engine. This isn't my Jag or V-8 Ford Explorer, but the HHR gets up and ...

Long Live the Lead Sled

by   jupitertom ,  Apr 3, 2006
Pros: Style, functionality, ride/handling, comfortable seating, sound system, gas mileage.
Cons: Cheap interior, power window button placement, limited cubbies to store small items up front.
The Bottom Line: With gas approaching $3.00 per gallon my HHR does almost everything my SUV did at a fraction of the price. Long live the Lead Sled!
Review: The HHR is one of those cars that is sure to evoke an opinion. You either love the style or hate it, but everyone is sure to look. Personally I love it. I think this car looks great from every angle. Too many cars today lack personality, the HHR ...

Cons: None I did my research and never looked back.
Review: I've had mine for over 1.5 years and I can say it has been nothing but a great car. Excellent mileage (30 highway)(25 intown). Ride is smooth and comfortable. Good for a weeks travel with the little one in the back, but larger families will be ...

Love my HHR

by   hnasc ,  Jun 10, 2007
Pros: Great gas mileage, Seats fold down easy for carrying stuff, handles great, minimum blind spots
Cons: Arm rests not adjustable, manual complicated, problem with clock
Review: I had never seen an HHR til I went past one in a car lot, on my way to look at a white van. My eyes kept looking as I walked past and I said, over my shoulder, what is that? I thought it was what a PT Cruiser could be. Bought it that day. I love it ...

HHR is a great ride

by   desotokid ,  Jan 1, 2006
Pros: Solidness,interior quality,brakes.........
Cons: a rattle from the compartment on top of dash , MPG only at 18.5.......
Review: I test drove both HHR with LT 2 pack and PT Cruiser Route 66 edition and the Chevy wins hands down. As I drove the Chrysler I felt that it was ready to fall apart as horn button you can push and it does not always worked and regardless how many airbags ...

Economical Gas Mileage and Lots of Room

by   sally6464 ,  May 27, 2007
Pros: gas mileage; fun to drive; great look
Cons: Sightlines a bit obstructed.
Review: I initially was looking for an SUV from Ford but couldn't come to grips with the cost of the gas that would go into it. My Ford dealer called me and said a used HHR had come in the night before and he thought I would love it. I'd never heard of the ...

Any reason to buy this PT Cruiser knock-off?

by   mkaresh , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Aug 11, 2005
Pros: Smoother and quieter ride, more refined engine, more macho styling, driving position
Cons: Not as cute, no performance engine option, numb steering, more lean in turns
The Bottom Line: Largely a me-too product that breaks no new ground, the HHR's main advantage over the PT Cruiser is a smoother, quieter ride.
Review: My wife isn't much of a car person, but the especially cute ones nevertheless capture her attention. She wanted VW New Beetle when they first came out, but she also wanted to start a family. So functionality, or a lack of the same, nixed the VW. ...

Probably the Worst Car Ever Made

by   simplemoney ,  Nov 2, 2005
Pros: Lots of storage space, good mpg
Cons: No Sirius radio, lacks powerful engine
The Bottom Line: A great car if you don't like big Cadillacs.
Review: Those are the exact words my Dad used after my test drive of the Chevy HHR. He elaborated by saying it was too small, not comfortable, poorly laid out controls and just plain ugly. My response - I bought it. Road Manners The HHR is a small ...
