by   bowflexuser ,  Feb 1, 2007
Pros: Gas Mileage, easy to drive, comfortable
Cons: Possibly the reliabilty
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car again and again. Great gas mileage, quiet ride, and looks decent too!
Review: To completely appreciate this review, you need to know what I was coming from. I was driving a wonderful 1998 Ford Explorer that I bought used for $5000. When I sold it, it had 135,000 miles on it, and just about everything was falling apart. Enter ...

An great choice for everyday use

by   lsturmfl ,  Dec 27, 2006
Pros: Steering, engine, good handling, quiet ride, comfortable seats, large trunk, bright headlights, intuitive interior design
Cons: Limited vision out of the back window, wish there was an interior air filter
The Bottom Line: If you want a useful, very functional and comfortable everyday car, seriously consider this one.
Review: I purchased a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu LT V6 in September 2006. I use this car primarily for commuting 60 miles a day in an even mixture of highway and heavy suburban traffic. I also use it for transporting children to and from various activities. At this ...

MHornSS

by   mhornss ,  Jan 31, 2007
Pros: Value, versatility, unique appearance, surprising quality, features, ride/handling combination, XM/CD/DVD/onstar
Cons: Transmission works fine but needs 1 or 2 more gears, or CVT, MPG is average
The Bottom Line: If youre seeking a unique appearing, versatile vehicle loaded with features that drives great and doesnt break the bank this is a great choice
Review: I've owned my Maxx SS for only 3 weeks but it's far exceeding expectations. Found my '06 on a Buick GMC dealer used lot and its "uniqueness with guts" really caught my eye. This car has so many features for the money it blew me away: Front/rear sunroofs, ...

I'm oddly attracted to this one (Maxx SS compared to G6 GTP and Mazda6)

by   mkaresh , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Oct 28, 2005
Pros: Unique, functional, fun to drive
Cons: Needs more gear ratios, could be even more fun to drive
The Bottom Line: An odd car, and certainly not for everyone. But if you like the concept you'll probably like the car.
Review: Coming off my d isappointing test drive of the Pontiac G6 GTP, my expectations were low for the related Malibu Maxx SS. The two share a chassis, engine, steering system, and tires, and likely have similar ...

Pros: Power Comfort Interior Quality/Worksmanship Classiness Sound System
Cons: Handling High-speed handling Back-road driving/handling/braking Rear-End styling Aerodynamics Torque Steer Manual Shift mode
The Bottom Line: If you're not looking for a 4-door sports car, buy it. You will be pleasantly surprised at how much Chevy has improved, and refined the new Malibu.
Review: Having experience with the last generation Malibu, I can easily say this Malibu is a step above the previous generation. The 2006 Malibu LT V6 is a more refined model than years past. My model was equipped with the V6 200hp Chevy Engine which powers ...

2006 Malibu Unexpectedly Nice for an American Car

by   placertogo ,  Jan 8, 2008
Pros: Good fuel economy. Nice handling including snow and ice.
Cons: Back of seat/headrest limits visibility when turning head to back up.
The Bottom Line: We would recommend this car. Heater core problem was likely a fluke.
Review: We were pleasantly surprised with this car. Handles solidly and quite peppy with the basic 4 cylinder engine. Has many of the niceties of the current crop of cars: tilt wheel, cruise, lumbar seat adjustment, radio controls on the steering wheel. The ...

Would not purchase again

by   paulasmailbox ,  Jul 2, 2008
Pros: Good looking car
Cons: Too many malfunctions. Steering wasn't my first problem with the car.
The Bottom Line: I love the looks of the car but would not buy it again because of the frequent repairs on such a newer model car.
Review: My steering went out while driving on the highway. Fortunetly I was slowing down to turn otherwise could have had a major accident. It cost me almost $900 to repair a steering motor that went out. Service dept told me that they had seen similar repairs ...
