300C SRT8: a worthy alternative to imported V8 sedans?

by   mkaresh , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Feb 12, 2006
Pros: Fast, roomy, great seats, balanced chassis
Cons: Feels large, fuel economy, guzzler tax
The Bottom Line: If you want 400 horsepower in a large sedan, the 300C SRT8 is easily your least expensive choice. You'll sacrifice features and some handling, but no performance.
Review: I've reviewed the regular 300 and 300C before, and this summer drove the entire SRT line at at the S RT Track Experience, which is offered free of charge to anyone who buys an SRT vehicle. (I paid $300 to attend.) But ...

A Mob Car for the Rest of Us...

by   vintage1985 ,  Apr 6, 2009
Pros: HEMI power, MDS system, high-quality interior
Cons: gas mileage.
The Bottom Line: Definitely a car to put on your short-list.  Provides Mercedes-Benz class luxury with HEMI performance.
Review: NOTE: This is a review of the 2006 Chrysler 300C 5.7L V8 HEMI mated to a 5-Speed Mercedes Benz transmission ONLY.  This review does not apply to the 2.7L or 3.5L/4-Speed Automatic variants of this sedan.  Contrary to the belief of some, there ...

Superb car. More than what I anticipated

by   buzzanderson ,  Sep 22, 2006
Pros: Everything about it is a pro. A genuine pleasure to drive.
Cons: I have yet to figure out any cons to this car.
The Bottom Line: Buy this car if you can. You will not regret it. It is more than what it is advertised. Smooth, comfortable and powerful.
Review: We were looking to buy a new car after having had our old reliable workhorses; a 94 Thunderbird and a 93 Chevy Euro. Both cars more than were worth the money. We live in a small town and we take good care of our cars. Drove them until we realized that as ...

The Car I've always wanted

by   eagle300c ,  Oct 21, 2007
Pros: Has it all - great looks, handling, comfort and power. Flat out fun to drive!
Cons: Smaller trunk than '99 LHS and no pull strap, Mileage not as good as advertised
The Bottom Line: Good handling. Quiet ride. Great styling. Power. Flat out fun to own and drive.
Review: When I got married 30 years ago, I told my wife, whose family always drove Chrysler products that I'd never have one. Now, I'm on my 5th! 2 Town and Country vans, a '94 LHS, a '99LHS and now a 2006 300C. All have been great cars, from the same great ...

Luxury and comfort

by   candie801 ,  Jun 7, 2009
Pros: Luxury, style, comfort and appearance. Appeals to both younger and older generations.
Cons: Expensive maintenance, and expensive to maintain.
The Bottom Line: It is not only excellent in performance it is excellent in appearance. With regular maintenance, this car will last for many years. Highly recommended.
Review: The Chrysler 300 is luxury, comfort and style at it's best. Style and appearance persuaded me to buy my 300. After owning my 300 for coming up on 2 years it has exceeded my expectations on its performance and the quality of the body. I have only ...

Wow! Chrysler 300c Hemi

by   nancycurtis ,  Apr 15, 2006
Pros: Harmonizes best aspects of European and Detroit engineering and design.
Cons: High sills and low roofline are a problem in some situations.
Review: We had to put our dear Saab in the shop at a time when the mechanic was away. So I had to rent a car. This time it turned out to be a Chrysler. It was such a treat to drive that after 2 days I went to the Chrysler dealership and, after test drives by ...

SRT8: 8 months after purchase, and I still can't stop smiling.

by   goddardz ,  Mar 21, 2006
Pros: Take no prisoners performance. Amazing performance/value price point. Outstanding braking/handling. Inspires Confidence.
Cons: Excessive brake dust. No trunk closing handle. Had to find something to complain about.
Review: It is quiet, unless I provoke it then it sounds like the powerful car that it is. It drives like a smaller car, holds the road like glue, will safely outbrake many much more expensive cars. It is soul-liftingly quick, looks like it cost twice as much as ...

Pearl Blue, Sittin' 24 inches off the ground

by   bigtruckseries ,  Aug 22, 2006
Pros: FAST, POWERFUL, SPACIOUS, COMFORTABLE, ELEGANT
Cons: Brakes need tightening, Some cheap parts, fuel economy of Hemi-C.
The Bottom Line: For under $40,000 (with tax) this is probably the best luxury car you can possibly buy right now. Pray for the CHRYSLER IMPERIAL.
Review: CAR AS DRIVEN Chrysler 300 with Hemi-C engine Moonroof Navigation Radio Chrome Appearance Purchased by my friend Juan in November 2005, driven extensively by myself during November - March. Top speed reached - 100 miles per ...

Chrysler 300C (compared to 300M)

by   mrspurg ,  Aug 13, 2005
Pros: Smooth, roomy, comfortable, quiet, VERY powerful, great transmission, wonderful styling and FUN
Cons: Poor mileage and DANGEROUS steering overcorrection liklihood in high speed panic steering maneuvers
The Bottom Line: Buy the car if you need American Iron in a comfortable family four door that is part muscle car--it is difficult to find more car for the money.
Review: After owning a dependable 300M for four years, I can provide a comparison between it and my new 2006 300C that I have owned for over a month. The 300M has a gorgeous body style (albeit less streamlined than the 300M), although beauty is in the eye of ...
