Pros: enormously expansive, ridiculously replayable
Cons: goodbye, productivity...
The Bottom Line: A fantastic strategy game (or history primer) if you have a few days to throw away.
Review: Im morally obligated to tell you right off the bat: Dont buy Civilization III unless you have hours upon hours of your life to throw away. But if you do, you wont be disappointed. The premise, of course, is that you are the ruler of a ...

Pros: Lots of new goodies, interesting twists in the gameplay
Cons: Stupid AI
The Bottom Line: This is a top-notch expansion pack for newbies and hardcore Civvers alike.
Review: Civ III is pretty close to the ultimate open-ended strategy game (at least by today's standards), so how do you improve on perfection? You don't - you add bells and whistles, but discriminatingly so to avoid going over the top. The most interesting ...

Pros: Always different, simple but complex
Cons: graphics could be better, not much action
The Bottom Line: Very good game, enjoyable for years
Review: Sid Meier's Civ III is a great strategy game for those able to devote hours to one campaign. You will need to set aside ample time as the gameplay for this can be quite consuming, unless you wipe out all of your rivals early on in the game. ...

Pros: Long game time- won't get bored
Good graphics
Cons: Not being able to ignore opponents moving through your own territory
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this game because it has many hours of game time, is very entertaining, and has many different outcomes.
Review: Civilization III is an awesome game. It never gets boring because every game is very different. You can choose which civilization to be, and whether you want to focus on science, military, economy, or culture (I almost always focus on advancing science ...

Pros: Civilization III is a very smart and challenging game!
Cons: It takes a weekend to play a game.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this game to any strategy war gamer!
Review: What a pleasant surprise. I have tried some of Sid Meiers games in the past and was not that impressed. Most of his games are 80% city building and 20% military. Civilization III Gold is a nice balance of the two and then some. Not only do ...

Pros: A fun and effective way to spend your time if you are a gamer.
Cons: Get the update patch. Did have problems once due to not having it.
Review: This is a fun and time consuming game. The key points of the game is to pick the civilization you want to be and play as that civilization till the game is over. After you start the game and have decided what country you want to be you have to make ...

Pros: Interesting concept, build empires, rule the world. Very stable game.
Cons: Repetitive once you have conquered the world a few times. Not enough technology options.
The Bottom Line: Recommended, will keep you interested and playing till you have won a few times.
Review: I bought Civilization III Gold Edition at Best Buy for 30 bucks. I have played it for several months and have begun to tire of it a bit. However, I did enjoy learning it and it is a novel approach to this type of game. Civ III never crashed and seemed ...

Pros: Better AI, new world wonders, tribes, and civilization attributes
Cons: Still the same basic game, in-game scenarios are restrictive and uninteresting
The Bottom Line: Unless you can't get enough of Civ 3 and mods that alter the rules of the game, don't bother
Review: I am a self-professed Civ 3 addict, perhaps not as much as the good folks on www.civfanatics.com, who appear to have a bit too much free time on their hands, but enough so, that I've become familiar with many of the game's subtle points. And although I ...
