Still holding strong.

by   nad_masters , top reviewer in Computer Hardware at Epinions.com ,  Jun 12, 2001
Pros: Still in the playing field.
Cons: Given way to GHZ CPUs. (Basically, NONE).
The Bottom Line: Reliable, not-yet obsolete.
Review: Contrary to what all PC marketers says, the PII has plenty of lungs left to scream. Let me explain why I am writing this as so no one is confused - I am not reviewing the CPU with benchmarks. It's a bit late for that, don't ya think? It's been 4 ...

Did I hear pentium?

by   sohailg ,  Feb 21, 2000
Pros: fast, reliability
Cons: getting old compared to Athlon
Review: These one of the best processors that are available in the market today. I personally have a Pentium 2 300 Mhz. It was the fastest speed available at the time. I bought this computer 2 years ago because my old one was getting a bit too slow. I like the...

Cheap & Better than Celeron

by   ebaycadillac ,  Jul 12, 2000
Pros: Cheap, good performance, long-lasting
Cons: Doesn't overclock much compared to the Celeron
Review: If you read my review of Celeron processors, you’ll be able to sense my hate for them. Now, this is the chip to buy for a workhorse system. I bought mine two years ago for my file server (right when they came out), and it’s still running strong with...

It had its days

by   cidd ,  May 14, 2000
Pros: WAS a good chip
Cons: none
Review: Like pretty much anything that has do with a computer. It gets out of date. (Real fast) The chip I have is a Intel Pentium 233 MMX. Now I really can’t recommend this for 2 reasons. 1. It's out of date. 2. It's not worth the money (you can get something...

Not bad!!

by   one1 ,  Feb 19, 2000
Pros: Fast
Cons: expensive
Review: The new intel petium II chips are good as in they are way ahead of their competitors as in speed, quality, efficiency and so on. As well it has the intl tag to support that it is a fine processor. The fastest i think is the PII 400 which is very good. It...

A Fast CPU at a very low price, best $$ For your Money

by   shauncool ,  Jan 13, 2000
Pros: price is fair, speed is high, L2 Cache is important to have
Cons: When these come out the price is outrageous. Better to buy it at least 6 months after it's released, inless you've got $$ To Burn
Review: I have had a Pentium II 350 CPU running my home-built system since January of last year (1999). I am very happy with the speed and reliability that I have had. When I got this it cost me $300.00. Now it is down to $100.00, and you can probably buy it...

Pentium II = Good | Pentium III = Sh1t

by   enwyse ,  Feb 7, 2000
Pros: Best one out there
Cons: None
Review: Pentium ii, just hearing the name makes me feel all good inside. I'm usually not up for buying the "brand name" but when it comes to this a pentium is a must. Pentium II, ranges from lots of differend speed (mhz). With the whole computer Frenzy...

Pros: Fast, and well cheap!

Review: When I put together my computer, I went to Fry's Electronics and bought the Intel Pentium II processor as the processor for my computer. After my computer was finished, and I loaded all of the software and everything, I noticed how incredibly fast the...

400

by   TheEraser ,  Jan 23, 2000
Pros: good processor
Cons: getting kind of slow
Review: I got my gateway g6 400 right when the p2 400 came out. This chip is still playing all my games and every other application that I ever run. I would recommend the Intel Chip to anyone looking at buying a new pc. I have never had a problem with this...
