Pros: the cast, the animation, the story
Cons: everything isn't what it seems.
The Bottom Line: If you love cartoons, Brad Pitt and Kim Baskinger, you'll love this movie.
Review: I'm an illustrator and I've always been facinated by cartoons. Also being a fan of Gabriel Byrne and Brad Pitt, I couldn't pass this movie up. It has everything I want in it. The story is about an ex-con cartoonist Jack Deebs (Gabriel Byrne) who ...

Pros: Three-dimensional cartoon characters!
Cons: Two-dimensional human characters!
Review: If combinations of live actors and cartoons a la "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "Space Jam" seem commonplace to you now, "Cool World" might still throw you for a loop. Yes, there are still cartoons and live actors, but...

Pros: sexual confusion
Cons: lack of full nudity
Review: Cool World is chock full of innuendoes, violence, sexual confusion and excitement of all sorts. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there wasn't enough nudity when Holly is made into a noid. Despite the lack of full nudity this movie will turn you on....

Pros: funy, entertaining
Cons: not many
Review: ~ This movie was so COOL. I heard from a friend, a few years ago, that there was a movie about a guy in an animated world, so I said ok I'll check it out. I am glad I did. This was one of my first chances of seeing both Brad Pitt and Gabriel Byrne. I...

A "Roger Rabbit" Wanna-Be That Doesn't Work

Pros: None, unless you'd like to see one of Brad Pitt's earliest roles.
Cons: Bad plot, bad acting, nothing like Baksi's original vision.
The Bottom Line: Bakshi's original plot was bastardized into a tedious, badly-acted travesty.
Review: Once upon a time, there was a movie/cartoon hybrid called "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" that made a ton of money. Sadly, that success spelled disaster for Ralph Bakshi and the movie that eventually became "Cool World." In its present form, "Cool World" is ...

Pros: Strong animation; occasional highlights of the film's soundtrack.
Cons: Acting; screenplay; not the film the director intended to make.
The Bottom Line: While far from the worst film ever made, Cool World is the least successful of Ralph Bakshi's works. Not recommended.
Review: (NOTE: Not to be confused with The Cool World, a 1964 film by Shirley Clarke involving gangs in Harlem.) In order to realize how disappointing Cool World was to fans of innovative animator Ralph Bakshi, you have to understand that Bakshi ...

Pros: Brad Pitt is in it.
Cons: Poor animation, confusing action sequences, uninteresting plot, disappointing.
Review:
I went to see "Cool World" years ago as one of the last things I did in Kokomo, Indiana, before moving to Chicago to start a new job. I had heard from others that "Cool World" was an informal sequel to the excellent... |

Pros: Two great stars acting in this movie
Cons: Boring plot and very uninteresting
Review: When I first went to see this movie I thought it would be like a remake of Who Framed Rodger Rabbit with a little twist. Well, it was just an under rated want to be sex flick about this cartoon woman who wants to become real and the only way she can do...

Pros: Nothing!!! Not even Gabriel Byrne could save this. Even things that could have been all "impressive" like the animation were just stereotypical
Cons: Every minute I watched of this film felt like an hour, beyond making it probably one of the most boring films I've ever watched. Unlikeable characters stuck in a stupid, sick plot.
Review: I literally despised this movie when I was forced to watch it, despite the presence of talented Gabriel Byrne. What was he thinking??? What was I thinking when I decided to pay attention to it. I think I expected it to be like "Who Framed Roger...
