Pros: A quick behind-the-scenes of the First Crusade. An orangutan who understands Anglo-Saxon.
Cons: A fiendishly intricate Plot. Chivalrous love of combat too exalted for this world.
The Bottom Line: COUNT ROBERT OF PARIS is the last novel written by the creator of the historical novel genre. This novel is a fine introduction to the First Crusade as history.
