Cuisinart Private Reserve Wine Cooler

by   bevlvbird ,  Nov 16, 2005
Pros: appearance, weight, interior light and preset temps. for red or white wines.
Cons: There are no cons
Review: I just received this from www.cooking.com (no tax & no shipping costs) and it is great. Simple yet professional looking with interior light that can be turned off if you prefer. I am going to order 3 more for our grown children for Christmas. ...

works well at first, then destroys your wines.

by   superstah ,  May 4, 2007
Pros: breaks down on you without any warning
Cons: Don't trust this thing, you'll lose your wines.
The Bottom Line:

Do NOT buy this piece of crap.  If you do, put all your crappy cheap wines in it so if it ruins those wines, you wouldn't care.

Review: We bought this wine chiller after our failed foray in online shopping for our previous wine chiller. We got it for about 200 dollars at BevMo in California. Basically, we got what we were looking for. This is a nice looking, brushed silver wine ...

Very poor performance for $200 appliance

by   gunf1ghter ,  Sep 27, 2006
Pros: Looks nice on a countertop. Makes a good paper weight.
Cons: This thing is a piece of junk.
The Bottom Line: Beautiful looks and nice wine racks don't matter when the unit doesn't work as advertised. Avoid this thing like the plague. We are now looking at installed units.
Review: My wife and I had registered for this wine chiller after seeing it on display at a local store and were surprised to receive it from one of her bridesmaids. We would love to be able to keep several bottles of our favorite wine at a lower than room ...

Might Damage Your Wine

by   yamwacky ,  Aug 20, 2008
Pros: Looks great!
Cons: Noisy and could destroy your wine.
Review: While this little wine cellar looks great it has a lot of flaws. First off it's anything BUT quiet. The fan is very noisy. After about 18 months it stopped keeping a constant temperature, in fact it raised the temperature and warmed the wine. Of ...

Cuisinart Wine Cooler

by   carmiland ,  Feb 17, 2009
Pros: Sleek look, bottles fit nicely
Cons: Very noisy. The unit only lasts a couple of months
Review: I bought this cooler for my husband for Christmas 2008. Although it looks nice and worked initially, it didn't last past Valentine's Day 2009. Although the display said 57 degrees, the inside was room temperature. The unit wasn't cooling, but the ...

Broke after one year, destroying wine...

by   koball ,  Jul 23, 2007
Pros: Nice looking. Fair amount of capacity relative to size.
Cons: Loud, and broke without warning
Review: As mentioned previously, this is nice looking, but a little loud. Now, after one year, it just broke. I found out by seeing water (condensation?) leaking out of it, and opened it to find that it had given out on the 54 degrees I had it set at, and is ...

Short lifespan product design

by   doesitholdup ,  May 26, 2008
Pros: Attractive design but after time the unit will become a waste of power.
Cons: No provision for cleaning heat exchanger.
Review: My neighbor asked me to determine why her Cuisinart wine chiller does not work properly. There is a serious problem with the unit but it is due to a serious design oversight. The unit has dust and lint clogging the fan and aluminum heat exchangers ...

Unfortunate wedding gift

by   michellew7 ,  Mar 14, 2008
Pros: My marriage is in much better condition.
Cons: It broke in nine months.
Review: I got exactly what I asked for, but it unfortunately sucked. This wine cellar looks nice and worked great but broke after nine months. The motor still works but it has stopped chilling my wine. I'm heartbroken, because the dear friends who bought it ...

DO NOT BUY THIS!

by   vicdiscoaolcom ,  Jul 26, 2006
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Doesn't work and has cheap parts
Review: It only works in rooms that are 70 degrees or cooler(as stated in the manual). We found this out the hard way, after we purchased and waited and waited for the lousy thing to chill our wine, then finally consulting the manual. Also the two front legs ...

3 words - piece of junk

by   jbbrla ,  Jun 7, 2009
Pros: Looks nice and worked well for 5-6 months.
Cons: It is NOT built to last.  DO NOT BUY ANY CUISINART WINE CELLARS!!!
Review: Preciously bought a CWC-600 (6-bottle), which lasted about 6 months then stopped cooling.  Then like the idiot I am, I bought the CWC-900 and it quit working in 5 months.  Pretty stupid, huh?  Cuisinart is an over-rated, piece of junk; the ...
