Perfect Iced Tea

by   TheAdvocate ,  Jan 22, 2001
Pros: Water really does stay fresh, as heating element is not immersed
Cons: Indicator light and on-button are located on the back
The Bottom Line: The Cuisinart satisfies the two basic needs of a kettle owner: ease-of-use and good taste
Review: After almost 20 years of iced tea addiction, I think I’ve probably brewed iced tea using every method known. I’ve draped tea bags over the top of a big clear jug, left to sit for several hours on a south-facing porch. Dangled tea bags over the side of a...

State-of-the-Art, and Stylish too!

by   sarahgutch ,  Nov 16, 2000
Pros: Great-looking, Automatic Shut-off, Quiet
Cons: pricey
Review: I can honestly say that this is one product (handsome as it is) that I could live without. In fact, when I ripped open the happy birthday wrapping paper and lifted the kettle out of the box, I really didn't think I'd use it right away, since I...

Cuisinart quality

by   bestalive ,  Feb 3, 2004
Pros: Improved design, truly automatic, very hot water - FAST.
Cons: Hole is a little small for cleaning inside.
The Bottom Line: We have had this 3 full years. Easily my money's worth. Love it and will replace it with the same if it wears out!
Review: 02/03/04 This little pot is still going strong! Heats very well and has not been one minute of trouble since we got it. Our water is not hard, so we have had no scale buildup in 3 full years. I feel certain a little vinegar water would quickly do ...

RE: Cuisinart KUA 17 Electric Kettle

by   ldsage ,  Feb 24, 2005
Pros: It is easy to lift, stainless steel and has a longer warranty than most.
Cons: None
Review: I've tried several electric kettles and this one is by far the best. The handle on the top makes it easier to lift when full of water. The ones with the handles on the side don't balance well. I didn't find that the steam drifted onto my hand as a ...

Try it you'll like it!

by   dslev ,  Aug 17, 2008
Pros: Bring hot water to the kitchen table without a hot plate.
Cons: Hard to get your hand inside to clean.
The Bottom Line: It's fast, safe and convenient and it holds 1 3/4 quarts of water that you can carry around and put down anyplace.
Review: We recently received this product as a gift and at first I was resistant because of the electric cord and base but after trying it once I can tell why we like it so much. I make coffee one cup at a time with a paper filter, coffee grinder and ...

The Bottom Line: A great way to heat water. So easy anyone can use it.
Review: I have always loved hot tea and thought this item looked fun so I registered for it when I got married. Then I got it and the thought went though my mind that I would not use it very much. I quickly learned I was wrong. This tea kettle is great. ...

Great design but do your need it?

by   serrow ,  Feb 17, 2008
Pros: build quality fast heating
Cons: possible burns noisy fill method is cumbersome
The Bottom Line: If it is going to sit on your counter every day you might as well get an attractive looking kettle.
Review: My wife and I have always relied heavily on the good ol' water kettle. Whether it was dorm living and making ramen to boiling water for the newborn, our kettle never left the small condo countertop real estate. When our most recent model went kaput ...

Heats Water Quickly and Water Doesn't Have a Bad Taste or Smell

by   jonlosche ,  Oct 19, 2007
Pros: Quick boil, quiet, no bad smell or taste
Cons: Spot-weld for the handle may prove to be weak.
Review: We have been having bad experiences trying to purchase a new kettle to replace our old Russell and Hobbs (European manufacture not the new Chinese). They all seem to have a problem with taste and smell if you leave water in them. That is longer than ...

decent cordless kettle

by   sonokokanai ,  May 30, 2005
Pros: fast boiling time, get about 5 cups of water at times
Cons: You'll get steam while pouring. small mouth opening
The Bottom Line: it's a good electric cordless kettle.
Review: I saw this one listed as the best kettle in the class, which is to my surprise. I've written a review on another electric kettle by kitchenaid, which I thought was better. The reason why I'm using this one now is because my guests have burnt the ...
