Bang On!

by   whiteyboy ,  May 3, 2001
Pros: Great beats, great flow
Cons: weak last song
The Bottom Line: Great Rockin Techno! A must have in any collection.
Review: The Propellerheads made a name for themselves in the techno world with this disc. It's full of beat driven techno that all kinda has a James Bond feel to it. Their use of vocal samples as intros and during their songs makes the difference between each...

Decks and Drums not too bad!

by   vandelinde ,  Nov 10, 2001
Pros: The beats and mixing are awesome, they are deep fast and funky.
Cons: Not really anything unless you have no funk.
The Bottom Line: You have to at least give this a chance, I've met noone who doesn't like this. A bit of Hip-Hop, old-school techno and classsical all rolled into one.
Review: The Propellerheads have really pulled off an amazing record here. Every track on here is a gem and they fit together very well. The beats are reminiscent of hip-hop though with a little bit of the famous British wit thrown in. They even have Shirley...

It's Smoove n' Devlicious

by   thecommuter ,  Jun 18, 2000
Pros: clever samples, tasteful remixes, rump shakin' diddies
Cons: do i hafta give a con?....well, if i hafta, it sounds like the prop-boys are holding back ;)
Review: I first got a taste of the Propellerheads from The Matrix. "Spybreak!" is the music that is pulsing through your body during the sequence where our heroes, Neo and Trinity, are blasting their way through the ground-level security in order to...

Rocks

by   stecina ,  Nov 11, 2000
Pros: variety, beats, funky, groove
Cons: I would love if it just kept going!
Review: This album is a little more pop than most of the electronic music out there, but it surpasses most of them in variety and funkity. I made that word up.

The music on this album is fairly universal. People who don't like rap, like the rap on...

Phat beats and terrific samples.

by   sk8pmp ,  May 13, 2001
Pros: The style isnt seen anywhere else...
Cons: we only get one album in this style.
The Bottom Line: Dance to it. Dont analyze it. If you look for musical genius, you wont enjoy the simple fun that the props provide.
Review: "Whats different about the 69 that makes it so exciting to you? 2000 people in a sheeting, roaring, shouting mass." How can this wonderful use of samples be overlooked? The props use a beat background that is hard to ignore and the samples will perk your...

Safe Bet

by   sdriver ,  Jul 20, 2000
Pros: Dig those beats
Cons: Spy camp?
Review: ‘Take California’ - "Begin to eat the dust of Baja California", all sliced and scratched to hell...groovy bass riff kicks it off, hit the break and kick the groovy drum beats. Awww yeah. Man, I heard this and I was sure I had a winner. It's so...

Toughandsexyandhooky

by   michael_tremko ,  Dec 24, 1999
Pros: Late night party music
Cons: Neighbors
Review: The Propellerheads have a very easy to like style, kind of like the Chemical Brothers. The bass is phattt and low, the hooks would make Britny Spears dance, and it's got a fun bubblegum thing going on there. This would be a great album to play on the...

Hit and miss

by   BigheadNed ,  Dec 13, 2000
Pros: all the songs
Cons: gets old after a while.
Review: When you first listen to this album you'll be going 'WAYHEY! Best album ever'. Then, like a young child, you'll throw it away and like something bigger and better than it. You'll forget about it for a few years and one day you'll be moving to a different...
