Great Car, Don't understand all the bad reviews

by   mshaneb ,  Mar 9, 2008
Pros: Fuel economy, comfort, quiet, stereo system, looks.
Cons: I wish it had a driver's side grab handle.
The Bottom Line: I am very pleased and would buy the same car again.
Review: I previously owned a 2003 Honda CRV and was looking for something with better mileage and quieter. I drive a lot with my job and have put 12,000 miles on the car since October. I could not be more pleased with the car, and the more I drive it the more ...

A great car, I would buy another one.

by   chris122080 ,  Nov 2, 2008
Pros: smooth ride and lots of cool gadgets, cool looks
Cons: large sail panel makes checking blind spots difficult.
The Bottom Line: A good american made car and I would buy another
Review: My wife and I bought the car 6 months ago and we love it.  We love the agressive look of the car and the fit and finish has come a long way from the 90's junk they used to make.  I know you don't need a cooling cup holder, but it's fun to ...

My 2008 Dodge Avenger R/T

by   mckmisfitz ,  Dec 6, 2007
Pros: navigation system
Cons: radio controls on the wheel
The Bottom Line: Looks of the car are jaw dropping and the performance is exceptional. With the entertainment and sound system you are never bored. A wonderful ride!!
Review: My husband and I were looking for a car for my oldest daughter; while we were waiting I starting looking through the cars to see if there was anything I would like, for the future. When I got to the end of the lot not finding anything I really liked I ...

2008 Avenger-Great ideas but lacking in Key Areas

by   catholicman ,  Mar 10, 2008
Pros: Reliable 3.5L engine, 6-speed automatic transmission (R/T), nice leather interior, excellent features
Cons: Still uses 4-speeds on smaller engines, 2.7L V6, small trunk, hard plastics on dash
The Bottom Line: It is not the best in its segment, but people who like innovative features are likely to enjoy it.
Review: Starting in middle 2007, Dodge introduced a new sister car to the 2007 Chrysler Sebring on "their" new mid-sized platform the JS platform. Unlike the previous generation Sebring for the Chrysler and Stratus for Dodge, Chrysler put in the effort to make ...

A good car for the price

by   williamsbk ,  Sep 19, 2008
Pros: Plenty of horsepower and gas mileage. Lots of room in the trunk and rear seats.
Cons: Big plastic dash. The chrome shifter does shine the sunlight into your eyes.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle especially if you are looking for an economical vehicle under $20,000, with great gas mileage.
Review: My wife is a sales rep. for a major chain. She was offered several cars as her work vehicle. She picked the Avenger because it had several features that made her life easier. The ExteriorThe number one thing on her list was trunk space. The ...

2008 Avenger R/T - I like it!

by   garhun85 ,  Oct 10, 2008
Pros: Price - Performance - Options - Great looks.
Cons:

Interior fit/finish. Could use a padded dash and some padded cloth on the doors.

The Bottom Line: I would recommend the new Avenger- (R/T only) for anyone looking for an affordable, fun, automobile - keep in mind, looking at fit/finish, this is NOT a $40000 vehicle.
Review: Ok, we did our homework - test drove Chevy Malibu, Saturn Aura, Mitsubishi Sonata, (but not Toyota and Honda, too expensive) cars in our price range (including a 2009 Avenger SXT 4cyl. and a 3.5 Sebring Convertible) and we settled on the 2008 Avenger ...

2008 Avenger - Avenging all that is refined

by   shoplmart , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Sep 30, 2007
Pros: Roomy, Base price is relatively low for this class, Lifetime warranty for powertrain.
Cons: Unrefined engine and transmission, Cheap interior,
The Bottom Line: The Avenger still falls short of its competition.
Review: I wasn't a fan of the 2001-2006 Dodge Stratus Sedan for a number of reasons: quality control issues, poor reliability, and lack of driver involvement are to name a few. So, when Dodge discontinued their Stratus sedan in 2006 and reintroduced their ...

The 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT is uninspiring.

by   dnhoshor ,  Sep 16, 2008
Pros: There's a pop cooler in the dashboard
Cons: Underpowered, noisy, skittish handling. Cheap plastic looking dashboard.
The Bottom Line: Given I choice, I wouldn't buy the Dodge Avenger.  It's barely tolerable as a rental car.  I can get so much more car for about the same price elsewhere.
Review: I have been driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT for the last week as a rental call, and have put nearly a thousand miles on it mostly on Southern California freeways. In a so many words, the car is a dog. There's nothing horribly wrong with the car, but ...

Nothing to Get Excited About

by   rwpetty ,  Mar 10, 2008
Pros: Style, interior, controls, fairly quiet ride.
Cons: Pitch & rolling down the road, inability to see outside the vehicle without mirrors.
The Bottom Line: My bottom line is that this is an unsafe vehicle.
Review: Sent out of town on a major fire loss and the boss rented me a 2008 Dodge Avenger. I asked for a rag top Jag, but what can I say. Actually, I've been wanting to drive one of these low slung Dodge cars for some time and I was hyped about getting the ...
