Fight Night 2004 - A Knockout or a Low Blow?

by   romasuave ,  Jun 3, 2004
Pros: Innovative game controls, superb graphics, lifelike career and training modes
Cons: Controls hard to get used to at first, tough training modes, no 2P mode
The Bottom Line: Low blows do hurt, A LOT!
Review: EA Sports has touted this new boxing game as one of the best boxing games ever with its new trademark punch control system. But the question remains, is the new system a good thing or a bad thing for gamers? The answer lies ahead in my review of Fight ...

Better Than A George Foreman Grill

by   graydome ,  May 13, 2004
Pros: Innovative control method. Tight boxing gameplay. Nice graphics and sound.
Cons: Defence is still a bit hard. Not enough options.
The Bottom Line: The best boxing game in recent memory, hits like Tyson in his prime, and with more come backs then George Foreman. Recommended.
Review: Modern day boxing is as much about entertainment and crazy antics, as it is about the brutal art of bludgeoning someone with your fists. And it’s for that reason alone boxing should make a ‘bloody’ good video game. Unfortunately memorable boxing titles ...

A Knockout

by   junior5847 ,  May 5, 2004
Pros: Graphics, Sound, and Career Mode
Cons: Lack of talent, Retiring at 40, Training
The Bottom Line: I recommend this game for any boxing fan, or any former fan of the Knockout Kings.
Review: Over the years, the boxing games has been desperately trying to get more realistic, but most attempts to date have fallen flat in one category or another. This year, EA Sports did to its boxing game what it did last year to its baseball games--it started ...

Fight Night 2004: Don't Believe the Hype

by   kjell1979 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  May 10, 2004
Pros: good graphics, great controls, realistic boxing
Cons: career mode is shallow, the AI becomes predictable, the sport is dead
The Bottom Line: This could be the best boxing simulation ever created.
Review: You can't mention a boxing video game without referring to its roots. The game I'm referring to is Mike Tyson's Punchout (or simply Punchout if you got on the boat a little late) for the old NES. Since then there have been many boxing games, but none ...

Fight Night 2004: Better than Knockout Kings, but what isn't?

by   pavona21 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Oct 10, 2004
Pros: -Graphics, audio, list of boxers.
Cons: -Much, much too short.
The Bottom Line: A good start to this new EA Sports franchise, but too lacking in depth to warrant a purchase.
Review: Intro Ah, boxing. An organized, violent sport with a rich history. A history just rich enough for most Americans to care about it less than they do hockey. Let's face it, this is basically a sport for the die hard gambler, not the run of the ...
