A Box Full of Fun and Value

by   enzayxvii ,  Dec 5, 2008
Pros: Great gameplay, graphics, sound, music, and value
Cons: PC version requires Internet access to use any of the games
The Bottom Line: Buying The Orange Box at any reasonable price is a great idea.  While the first-person perspective and online requirement may discourage some, this collection is top notch.
Review: When Valve released The Orange Box the gaming journalism world thought it was crazy.  At a time when a single game cost $50-$60, Valve released a collection of five games - three of them brand new - for only $50.  These days this collection can ...

Five Amazing Games for the Price of One

by   desya ,  Aug 3, 2008
Pros: Intriguing game play, five games for the price of one, many hours of entertainment.
Cons: Leaves you wanting more.
The Bottom Line: Although you can buy the games individually now, I highly recommend buying The Orange Box due to the amount of quality games for a single low price.
Review: One problem with games today is that consumers are often paying $50 for a few hours of solid entertainment, and then the game ends. Valve changed all that when they released The Orange Box. For the price of one average game, you receive Half Life 2, ...

Game of the Year

by   cjackson915 ,  Feb 2, 2008
Pros: Portal and Team Fortress 2 are innovate, entertaining and addictive.
Cons: Includes 2 already released games. Portal is SHORT.
The Bottom Line: Near perfection. Portal is great for all ages, and Team Fortress 2 is the best multi-player gaming around.
Review: Words cannot describe the fun that comes from playing Portal, the main attraction in 'The Orange Box'. Portal is an innovative single player concept where instead of shooting bad guys, your task is just to survive. The key to this story is the portal ...

Awesome gaming experience

by   cplcarlman ,  Mar 2, 2008
Pros: Great value, automatic updates with Steam
Cons: Internet connection is required even if you are playing offline.
The Bottom Line: Absolutely recommend this game. Also if you have HL2 or HL2:E1, you can "gift" them to someone else.
Review: If you have $50 to buy one game, don't. Why not buy "The Orange Box" instead and get five great games for your same $50? I really have nothing bad to say about any of the games included in the Orange Box. Here is a brief description of each: ...
