Looks like an ES-335, but Not

by   ahand ,  Jan 8, 2007
Pros: Very nice feature set and looks for the price
Cons: Not an good ES-335 type if that's what you want
The Bottom Line: It's a fine semi-solid with it's own voice, worth a look.
Review: The Sheraton II has an interesting lineage, as it was, in fact, a Gibson made guitar in the 50's (after the company was sold to Gibson) and introduced at the same time as the ES-335. One of the primary differences was that it came with mini-humbuckers. ...

Epiphone Sheraton II: A Rare Gem When It Comes To Jazz

by   soupcraze ,  Mar 4, 2003
Pros: Amazing Looks, Amazing Sound, Construction Quality, Price, Etc...
Cons: None For This One!
The Bottom Line: The Epiphone Sheraton II is one of the greatest jazz guitars that I've ever seen. This in fact is a rare gem.
Review: I don't really play jazz guitars, and I'm not into jazz too much... However, at times I do appreciate listening to some nice quiet tunes, and I've always been impressed with the sound of semi-hollow body jazz guitars. A lot of the guitars that I've seen...

Beautiful Sound & Looks. Epi Does It Again!!!

by   pspwolf ,  Feb 3, 2004
Pros: Versatile Sound, Beautiful Looks, Excellent Craftsmanship (except for the "e" logo on the pick guard).
Cons: "e" logo on the pick guard will come off if not fixed. That's All!!!
The Bottom Line: Gibson Quality at Epiphone Price!!! Don't be afraid to go Epi!!!!
Review: This guitar exceeds all of my expectations. The twin NY Humbuckers can handle it all. From warm, clean rhythm to driven blues leads, the Sheraton gives you what you want and then some. Gibson sound and looks at less than half the price, you can't beat ...

A Epiphone masterpiece for 500$ !!

by   avirex ,  Oct 9, 2005
Pros: Well build, wonderful look ans excellent sound and sustain
Cons: nothing
The Bottom Line: If you play Blues, Jazz or fusion, or even early rock'n roll, buy it, you won't regret it !!
Review: If you buy Sheraton, you don't buy a Gibson. You buy an original Epiphone Sheraton with its own personality. If you are searching for an entry level ES335 you will probably want to change the pick-ups because it doesn't sound like a Gibson 335. But the ...

Sheer class

by   allanbt ,  Oct 21, 2002
Pros: Beautiful instrument, finely crafted, lovely warm, jazzy-blues sound
Cons: Little bit heavy on the shoulder
The Bottom Line: In essence, it's a quality instrument - very good value for money - buy one!
Review: I walked into a guitar store in Glasgow (Scotland) - Merchant City Music (great shop) and saw this on the wall and asked to try it out. As soon as I had it in my hands I knew I had to have it. I'd always wanted an Epiphone Casino but they're really...

GREAT tone and look... ask it to OASIS!

by   dyango ,  Mar 15, 2001
Pros: GREAT LOOK, GREAT SOUND with a good equipment... of course
Cons: cheap pickguard... replace it!
The Bottom Line: GREAT GUITAR FOR A VERY GREAT PRICE!!! Even if you change a pickup or another hardware part
Review: Imagine... it is agood guitar for OASIS... so it can be a great guitar for you... Everybody compare it to the gibson 335 but there is no point... they are different guitars with different sounds... both great. This one has a very fat sound, also clean...

Sheraton A Class Act

by   guildpicker ,  Nov 18, 2001
Pros: Great Semi-hollowbody with nice inlay work. Tone to spare Good Blues axe
Cons: Not one..
The Bottom Line: For a fancy , quality guitar that will hold up through it all and sound great this is a monster deal.
Review: Let's make one thing very clear up front. The Epiphone Sheraton II , is not a Gibson. It is however, a class instrument and should be taken seriously. It has a heritage all it's own that is as proud as the Gibson ES335.
I also want to point out that...

Beats a Les Paul!

by   roygrif ,  Dec 2, 2000
Pros: Awesome guitar for the price
Cons: None i can think of.
Review: I bought my Epiphone Sheraton used in 1994, it is basically a Gibson ES335 with a different name. Recently i have been thinking about selling it to get a newer model, however after a jamming session i had last night i realized that might be a bad...

Sheraton II, closest thing to a Gibson ES-335

by   cooper144 ,  Sep 1, 2000
Pros: Great sound, great price
Cons: -still thinking-
Review: Now here’s an amazing guitar.

The tone is great, the pickups are superb, and the price is mind-boggling.

Compared to a Gibson ES-335 or a similar model by Gibson I'd rate this 9.5/10 for comparability.

The quality and...

Super Value Semi

by   nickwass ,  May 30, 2001
Pros: A lot of guitar for your money and very solid construction.
Cons: Very heavy - you'll know when you've had this round your neck for 3 hours!
The Bottom Line: Can't afford a ES335 or a Gretsch? Save you money anyway and use a Sheraton - good vale and good sound.
Review: Epiphone make a whole range of value for money guitars and the Sheraton is no exception. It's sort of based on the famous Gibson ES335 but is more decorated with binding and fancy neck inlays. It's also heavier - more on that later.
I bought mine...
